Dream Theater was not around in the 80s.

Yes, they were. They were called Majestic, then. I have the CD...it isn't bad, but I'm glad they got James LaBrie

he is a good vocalist by the way, hes just layely been trying to change his style which doesent work (train of thought) he tries to sound tough in a few songs and he is really bad at that

Oh, shit, djskrimp, where were you when I needed you? I thought I got pwned by GDiddy. Thanks for getting my back albeit belatedly.

'Course, I could've had my own back if I'd only gone and done a little more homework. All I did was go and see that Images and Words was circa 1992. Sigh.

I'm like a cop: never there when you need me.

I have a question: Does Devin play guitars on S&R? In the booklet he's just mentioned as the "lead vocalist", but I heard that he also had played the guitar. So, whats true now?

He might have played some rhythm guitar, but I don't know. He definitely weren't playing no lead.

To answer the topic question: I'm also one of the fans of Still My Bleeding Heart. The vocal performance is awesome and the chorus is nice too.

But I also like Dirty Black Hole very much, it's such a kickass hard-rocking song. The vocals are again great, Devin sounds like himself there. ;)

Still my bleeding heart for me, the ending with the rocking out improv vocals from Devin is amazing.

Still my bleeding heart is the best song, though the whole album is amazing.

"I crumble down
On my hands and knees
While his words fill the air
as he looks into his destiny"

I love the lyrics! Wouldnt it be great when Dev and Vai meet together again and when they would perform the whole album live with the original musicians? A live DVD!! Yeah, that would be great!

Jumping on the bandwagon, In My Dreams With You is a definate for Orly. I think it's hilarious though, that in the video Vai's pretending to sing too. Bet the poor dear wishes he had a pretty voice..

"Touching Tongues" for me. Strange and beautiful guitars and no cheesy lyrics to spoil it. And I love Devin's wordless vocal part in it...

Actully, I couldn't pick one/ I pretty much hate most of Vai's work.
The only picked this album up because Dev was on it.

He sang it well. Vai just wrote it bad.

I feel bad for picking the only song in which the singer is not Devin. Ha, but it's my favorite on this album! Rescue Me or Bury Me. But I really like Still My Bleeding Heart too..
