The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

Dear Dev, a serious question for you (possibly quite personal, sorry if this goes too far! I was hesitant about putting this on the board, I can delete if necessary.)

I know in the past you've had some struggles with mental illness, and while I'm glad to hear you've gotten much better since quitting drugs, etc., I also know from my research and experience with others that it can be an ongoing struggle.

I wondered, have you ever thought about doing a little media piece for groups that support and raise awareness for people with mental illness?

I've been doing some classes on mental health at university (in a Nursing context), and myself and others in my family have had issues with depression and anxiety, so it's an issue of personal interest to me. Awareness really seems to be the key with mental illness; so people aren't afraid to speak up and say they have a problem, and others can give them the right type of advice and not make things worse for them by not understanding, or just not caring.

While I was researching I found a USA website -

http://www.halfofus.com/default_splash.aspx -

"Half Of Us", which is targeted towards teens with depression and anxiety, and has short interviews with Billy Corgan and Pete Wentz, among others, who have had experience with depression and/or drug abuse. There are a few other similar organisations around, too.

I just wondered if you were aware of initiatives like these, and if you'd considered sharing your experiences at all.

Again, sorry if this got a bit too personal!
