Hey all. I just saw this over on metalblade.com and thought you'd all be interested. It seem that The Ocean will be the support for DTP's upcoming North American tour:

What do you think. I've listened to a bit of their stuff and it's pretty good. I've been meaning to check out some more.

Looks like I'm not going to make it to any show though, as I'm still unemployed and can't afford the trip over to either Seattle or Vancouver. Bah!

But yeah, I'm not a huge fan of theirs, listened to their albums but it's always seemed like their doing what a lot of others have done better to me. Still, I don't not like them, and I feel like they're suited well to opening for Dev. Should be cool to see them live.

here in middle-europe you get to see them quite often. not the genre I feel most satisfied by, but what they do they're doing pretty good. imho not a big thing to miss though.

I actually just picked up their latest on the weekend. I listened to Heliocentric and found it a little Porcupine Tree-esque. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I have to be in the mood for that kind of thing. Then I listened to its companion Anthropocentric, and that one was a lot heavier. It's pretty cool that they can do sister albums like that. Reminds me a bit of what Dev did with DTP. Previously I only had Aeolian, so I'll probably pick up the rest.

Well, that will have to wait, as I'm going to be listening to nothing but the new Opeth for the next few weeks. then the new Textures. nice!
