So the VIP ticket prices from last October were around $50 which included an acoustic pre-show, meet and greet, t-shirt, laminate, and early entrance to the venue.

The new ones are essentially the same, minus the acoustic show, with a Ziltoid hand puppet, a poster, and DTP bag added in for a grand total of $127?!?!(give or take depending on your venue)

This doesn't really add up. I guess I should feel lucky I got to make it to the tour last October with a VIP ticket and be thankful the general admission is still a great deal at $16... But still. What happened?

While I'm with you and a bit perturbed that I probably won't be able to afford this package (though to be fair, San Francisco doesn't even have a VIP package yet), Devin said there'd be more news on this soon, so let's hold off on freaking out until we know what's up.

I really really wanted to purchase this as I missed out on last year's VIP. I am holding my breath until he says what's going on. I was planning on buying a VIP ticket for myself and a friend, but at this price and without an acoustic show I don't know if I can :(

I think the reason is Artist Arena didn't make much money at all off of the last VIP package, which I'm cool with, but now they're getting greedy. They see a lucrative market in the dying music industry and they're going to exploit it.
I'll still buy a VIP ticket if I can, I still feel it's worth it based on last time's experience.

You're probably right. One thing for sure is that it wasn't Devin's decision. He seems just as surprised as the rest of us.

I'm very glad that Dev is checking this out to see what's going on. My reaction was the same as it sounds most of yours was, namely excitement as I went to the page followed by my jaw dropping and the sound of a lonely fart escaping me. I had a feeling they would be more expensive this time around than last time, but I wasn't thinking $130 expensive. Now to bring my girlfriend and I would be close to $300 with taxes and that is just really difficult to justify.

Hopefully we get good news!

Also, a convo between "JustinVigile" and Devin on Twitter:

JustinVigile wrote:man $150 is pretty steep. I remember them being around $50?

dvntownsend wrote:What's 150$ ? The vip??? for where... The UK or America... ?

JustinVigile wrote:America man. At west Chester there 13.50$ for GA and $150 for VIP,that doesn't sound like something you would do.

dvntownsend wrote:fuckin' hell. Let me ask management... give me a day, that's crazy.

JustinVigile wrote:thanks. You care about your fans. and I will be there again either way.

Well Artist Arena makes plenty of money for essentially doing nothing already

I'm kinda pissed now. I bought three regular tix because there was no way I was spending $127. If the VIP is lowered to $40-50 I can do it but I already paid for the regular tickets.

Can I exchange up? Probably not. This kinda blows.

I would wait for an announcement before jumping to any conclusions.

Bought 3 VIP packages for West Chester, I wouldn't do it for any other artist except Dev but man...$372 sure does leave a hole in the heart haha. Just for the time being though, once I get payment back from my two friends then it won't be as bad but I will admit, I thought that I had like 15 GA tickets in my cart until I realized that it was just for one VIP lol

But then again me and a friend paid $100 for seats to a Gorillaz concert so it's really not that bad at all. Their VIP packages were like $200-300
