Replace Random Analysis with Deadhead and you have a total killer setlist.

I always have trouble picking out Dev singles. His albums are what good ones are: you need the songs within context. Dev is killer at this, so is Pain of Salvation.

One of my favorite Dev songs is Unity. But I think only because it's so refreshing after the fucking craziness of Infinity, and it really only fits in that context.

Personally, I have two favorite moments of Devin of all time: one is the "I'm flying" section of By Your Command, and the foremost is the middle section of "N9" (starting at 2:15)...both are Devin's moth melodic sections ever created; and they're melodic sections created out of heaviness, and that's what makes them beautiful.

Next party you have, throw in a few strapping tracks for good contrast. I've been a strapping fan for a long long time through my mid teens and never really went much on dtb but still loved it. Now as i've grown older dtb has overtaken strapping as a favourite. The DTP has confirmed this for me. Call it giving into my teenage angst if you will!

Introduce the progression of Dev's material to your friends to show them the storyline. Perhaps a best of playlist in the order of release?

When your friends advance with the music of the dev, crank that playlist.. Limit your drug intake when listening to dev though, i've had misconceptions of certain songs when baked and they mean something else when i'm straight. Different frames of mind lead to different conclusions.. The music of Devin is far too valuable to be abandoned due to a bad thought when listening while baked. If you come across an enlightening concept, write it down. I assure you it's hard to remember what it was later on.
