Fuck I'm bummed about not being able to go to the solo acoustic gig here in Melbourne. Those placements went like wildfire!! Given how much demand there was, you'd think they could move it to a new venue and simply charge $5-10 or something for it! We'd all fucking pay. I am really happy to be seeing him at Billboards, but this adds a kind of shit taste to the whole thing because the solo gig would be really special. Fucking hell.

Yeah, I kinda know what you mean there - I would've thought it'd be better for everyone if the gig was somewhere larger and cost just a few bucks to get in. Not sure what Allan's Music nor Devin gets out of having the acoustic/instore at Allan's. (Never actually liked that store, I have to admit...)

Probably a question for the promoters to answer I guess.

LOL @ Mattyryan. That's not a bad idea mate. Someone will surely put their hand up to give you their spot for that kind of money. Hell, that's nearly twice what the Billboard's gig costs! Still, if it has to be done, I get it. Hope someone gets in touch

Ash - Yeah, I think whoever organised Dev to do his solo gig simply didn't anticipate how much demand there would be to see the show (see Mattyryan's offer!). In other words, the planner fucked up. If Dev knew how much demand there was for it, I bet he'd be a tiny bit pissed that this has turned out to be an exclusive little free gig with maybe a couple hundred people who'd be willing to pay real money to actually see him do it in a proper venue. I know he's not an all-money guy, but it wouldn't have hurt from his point of view, and at least everyone would have been happy. I don't mind Allans - in fact, I was lucky enough to see Gene do his Drum clinic there about 2 years ago; the very same room in which Dev will be performing. That's part of why I'm so pissed - it would have been strangely poetic to see both Gene and Dev in the same room do their thing 2 years apart from one another. Gene actually said that night that he had hopes to get together with Dev one day in the future and do something seriously heavy again; in fact, he was certain that it would happen eventually. Still, at least we get to hear him and Byron kicking ass over in the FF camp. Great things happening over there in my opinion! Anyway, here's the pic I got with Gene that night at Allans back in '08. \m/

Ive got a ticket, but IF i find get called into work that night 10-20% possibility, i'll gladly give it up for free to someone here, however, i hope it doesnt come to that..
