The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

Just got back from Sydney. Dev's show was incredible, loved every second! Can't wait for tonight.

NEVER fly Shitstar. They cancelled our flight on the way up, fortunately they got us onto a Qantas flight shortly after. But they cancelled our return flight too. This time, instead of flying at 10.30am, they could only get us on a flight at 3pm. :x

If anyone sees this from the pre-show get together, is there any word on whether the man himself is rocking up? Has been and gone? Is not coming? I was planning on being there at 4.30, but plans had to change....

Well, what can I say? It looks like I'm the first of the Melbourne crew to report back here, but I'm not going to do a proper 'review'; just wanted to express a few feelings. Like someone said who went to the Brisbane show, this was the best gig I have ever been to as well. Best gig ever, but certainly best Dev ever, and I've seen him quite a few times now since 1997. The whole thing was just phenomenal. 'Truth' and 'The Greys' nearly reduced me to tears; it looks like we got the same setlist played in Sydney, with the addition of 'Disruptr'. He was at the absolute top of his game and I feel completely satisfied in the experience.

I'm still going to have a go at getting into the acoustic gig, despite not having a place. And failing that, hopefully there'll be an after-show meet and greet/signing. Even if that doesn't pan out, the high gained from last night's show is going to be enough to make me bulletproof for the next week!

So is/was there an acoustic gig? I remmember hearing about one possibly going down, but didn't hear else. Anyway, last nights show was great, although I'm feeling the effects now. Neck/shoulders are kinda sore, plus my ears seem to be ringing more than usual, despite the earplugs. :(
My brother managed to setlist from the guy at the mixing desk, which he was kind enough to give to me. Now then, I could really use some more sleep.

What can be said? Both shows were magnificent and wonderful, the man is a genius and an amazing and unique performer. And just remember: these were his first ever headlining shows with this band, and it was 'just' a raw 4 piece band. Imagine what he'll be like when he really gets his live show fully happening in the coming years, with keyboardist, female vocalist, choirs, bigger visuals and all the other cool stuff he's planning. It will blow our minds!!!! I hope he comes back within the next 2 years tops...

well he said this on one of the other threads this morning:

'...It looks like we're going to do something REALLY special in Australia next year (as of last night!).....'

So mabe we won't have to wait too long, and how awesome, the next time he tours, the Saints will have that 2nd flag...

hey guys, went to the brisbane and melbourne shows. was definitely hugely satisfied with the brisbane show but last nights melbourne show however was the ultimate experience. absolutely mind blowing! devin definitely stepped it up even from his performance at brisbane. couldnt be happier with the setlist. i have to admit deadhead actually brought a tear to my eye. maybe throwing in the death of music would be the only possible way to better it. id usually think 1 way to better a gig as having the frontman fart in the mic but he managed to pull that 1 off too haha! fucking brilliant and funny as fuck. devin, thanks for the best gig ever! cant wait for next time... meaning the acoustic tonight. fuck yeh haha, life rocks

And I'll be in a wheelchair adjusting my hearing aid. ;)

(Hah but really, I'm a former Saints member, I don't follow it much anymore but the last few years have been exciting and frustrating to say the least...)

Harsh, but fair. Indeed I did! Agreed, agreed, agreed and agreed!

It rounded up my own personal 3 day Dev-fest beautifully! I'm a tiny bit disappointed not to have met the man, but apprently he's coming back NEXT YEAR! WOOHOO!! Maybe then...

What a weekend! I'm so wreaked, but it was all worth it. The live gig on Sunday night in Melbourne was utterly amazing. Awesome crowd, decent mix and sound and Dev was hilarious and humble as always. I seriously can't describe how much fun I had. It's one of the best gigs I've been to in a very, very long time. I even overheard some of the security say it was one of the most fun and enjoyable "metal" gigs they've seen in a very long time.

Here are some of the photos I took. I took over 750, both for last night's acoustic show and the previous night at Billboards. I got some really amazing shots though, all thanks to the amazingly lighting they had present. It was also great hanging with Dev after the show on Sunday and last night (Monday). I'll do a full review when my brain comes back to reality in the morning.

A big thank you to everyone who came down to the pre show meet up. We had a great turn out and I got to meet a lot of cool people. Thanks Brian and RVP for coming in to say hi as well. It was great chatting with you Ryan. Dave (Coma), great seeing you there as well. Can't believe you've done the whole tour...you must be fucked at this stage. haha!!
