ha, we walked over to the stage exit door, and decided to just leave the poor bastard alone!

Hey Dev,

If you do happen to read this, on behalf of all us Aussie Devin worshippers, I just wanna say a MASSIVE thank you for coming all the way out here to rock the fuck out with us, it's been very very special. The 2 loud shows I saw were incredible, the Melbourne acoustic set was an absolute blast and from all accounts all the other shows were amazing too. Plus you were an absolute gentleman to everyone. You are truly an artist of the highest possible calibre, and we WAY look forward to you coming back soon, hopefully next year as you said!

(suck, suck, suck)

Sincerely,

The Australian Devin Townsend fans.

Where'd you get that copy from? Mine is signed.

I took a photo of the setlist before Dev came on stage.

Thanks Jen. I'm glad you like them.

I'm going to organise some prints next week. I would have done it this week but have been a little busy.

Here are some I put up the other night.

I'm busy, sorry. Got a mates birthday on. :P

Kudos to what Rod said. Thank you so much Dev, Ryan, Brian and Dave for coming down and playing for Australia. It was a great experience. The acoustic show was amazing and the live show was just phenomenal. I haven't had so much fun in my life. Can't wait to do it all again next year. :)

A couple more shots from the acoustic show.

Very fucking cool photos black tooth grin! I was on the fence at the gig and saw you and the other two get through a couple of hectic moments with the security. Props man.

I went up at the Sydney gig as well, was nowhere near as much of an experience as Melbourne. I live halfway in between the two cities so it's always a hard choice where to go. This time i though screw it, i'll go to both. I knew it would be worth it. I drove up to Sydney, went to the singing to meet Dev and then the show. Flew to Melbourne next day and just walked the city for a few hours. I spent an hour in Allans alone playing on a couple of basses and guitars i'd love to buy. Someday.

The Melbourne gig was brilliant. I was fucking stunned. Sydney was awesome but Melbourne was better. (I'm sure everyone in Melbourne will agree either way haha) I laughed hard for a long time at Dev leaning down to kiss the head of one of the security.. So many moments of laughter and so many many moments of feeling GOOD. I chatted to a few people on the way back to the hotel about how insanely good the night was. Didn't get to sleep until 3am i was so buzzed after the gig. Quite possibly the greatest in my time of going to gigs. Very sorry to the guys beside me i accidentally elbowed a couple of times, it was just so hard to move. I tried to move slow but sweaty bodies become slippery bodies and move faster than normal when not paying attention.

Amongst it all the flight back to Sydney to pick up my car and drive home back for work the next day SUCKED ASS!! I felt better on Monday night after seeing the vid Dev put up on youtube. I'm the guy posing for a photo with Dev at the signing in Sydney. Thanks Dev, for throwing me and my goofy happy face in there! Thanks to the dude who took the photo as well. Nice to chat to you and your friend walking up the street afterward.

I've been into Strapping and DTB for a long time however seeing much much more of Devs' musical persona through the DTP is incredible.. Seeing it live is confirming it. I believe we're all witnessing Dev at his finest. Much thanks go to Dave, RVP and Brian also. Looking forward very much to Decon and Ghost and another tour next year. Hope all goes well Dev and that you can make it happen again. I'm sure we'll all do our best to support you and the band to come out here again.

I agree. I was having that conversation the other day, and I also think that this period may well be remembered as Dev at his absolute prime. I'm sure there will be many more extraordinary albums and shows over the years, but I have seen Dev quite a few times since 1997 and this has been, without doubt, the best time in 13 years to be a Devin Townsend fan. There is something magical about what has been happening on the albums and stage this time and I've got a feeling it will be remembered the most. I don't say that with regret, either. If it turns out to be true, we are all very lucky to have had the experience :)

I agree.

I disagree. I believe we're only seeing the start. I believe he only scraped the surface of what he is capable of on this tour.

True, I do agree. This is the start of something awesome. Please go all out Dev and film the next tour for a DVD release if the $ can stretch..!

Just got home after my trip to Perth To watch the Fremantle show... And Fuck it was awesome... I agree we are seeing dev at his Best... or maybe just his best so-far... I got feeling Deconstruct is gonna be mindblowing...

I got right up front at the show... and Devs stage prescence is the best ive ever seen.. and its always been good.
I caught the whole song "Numbered" as a Vid on my iphone for a memory... tho the audio came out shithouse atleast it looks wikid.

loved the Ziltoid radio show at the beginning... watching contrive pack down and DTP set up to i think a Vengaboys song was actually quite hilarious! :)

When Devy said he'd see us next year i nearly died!! That would be awesome if he was to come back and play the deconstruct stuff aswell!

So did the guys hangin round out the back eventually get to see Dev and the dudes?? I wandered past a couple of times but thought.. "screw it he looked freakin tired... i got to meet him at SYL last time.. so thought id leave him alone this time." Hey maybe a signing in perth next time.. as when SYL came here the instore was cancelled... great meeting after the gig tho..

Fuck yeah is saturday and Im still buzzed from the show...!

oh and when the played Namaste... i think the Beav noticed my Namaste Tattoo on me forearm... Couldnt get devy's attention tho... i wanted his signature under it so i could add it to the tat.. ahh well.

Awesome show!! shame about that freal bass note feeding back... the hippopotamus??

I reckon Dev is going to be one of those few artists who is not only going to be consistently awesome in his 50's, but possibly even BETTER than his 20's and 30's. I hope he becomes one of the elder statesman of metal.
