Hey Dev and everyone,

In case you read this Devin, I wanted to know about your early (pre-Vai) days of singing -- you sound fantastic on Sex and Religion (I can't believe you were just 20 years old!), and I just wondered what it took you to get to that stage. It sounds downright operatic, and your vibrato was down pat. Did you ever take lessons before that, or did Vai arrange for you to have a coach for the recording of the album? Was it all just road-hardened skills?

I've searched on the forum and found the occasional thread, but nothing conclusive..

I believe Ass-Sordid Demons II (and bits of I even) have a lot of pre-Vai material if you're curious.

This, i was thinking of posting a thread but Never got to it.

I am also interested, as Devins Vocals make me wanna sing every time but, alas I do not have the awesomeness.

Cheers, I've ordered Ass-Sordid Demos and am looking forward to hearing it . But that still doesn't really answer my original query..

I believe Dev said his choir teacher taught him all he needed to know about singing.
