Win a free signed Ziltoid CD contest.

Okay, I've been on these forums for some time. I've enjoyed talking with you all. I enjoy your company, so to speak, and I want to give back.

I have just put in enough money into PayPal to buy 3 regular edition Ziltoid The Ominscient CDs. Here is what I am proposing:

Once the money actually gets in, I am going to preorder 3 regular edition CDs, plus the special edition. Why 4? Simple...There's going to be a contest, and 3 people are going to win a CD. Simple as that. No, I am not kidding. I've been on here WAY too long to pull a BS move.

Here's the contest: I'd like to see a submission of a story/picture(s) of each contestant in their hometown, doing something coffee related. Buying coffee, drinking coffee at a cafe, whatever. The 3 funniest/goofiest/whatever-est will win. What I'll do is let people vote for their favorite, after I've gotten all the submissions. The deadline will be the 14th of May, and the contest will run from the 15th to the 18th. On the 19th, the winners will be announced. Feel free to submit pictures; I'll post them (with permission) on my Photobucket site, so that when the time comes, I can link them during the contest, so the board can see them.

If anyone from HevyDevy has an issue with this, I will immediately cease and desist. But, I am at a point in my life where I can give back a little, and I'd like to. I wish I was rich so I could do a much wider contest, but I am not.

Damn, those two introductional sentences almost sounded like a good-bye

...which would have given the title of the thread a very bitter tone

Anyway, that's really something... unexpected. And simply cool. Since my digicam is broke and I'm determined to pre-order the SE anyway, I probably won't participate - but remembering the Ziltoid cover-contest I'm sure some of us will come up with some very cool ideas. Really looking forward to those - hooray for this community :D

Don't have to include pictures. If your story is funny enough, it may when on its own merits. I don't want to exclude anyone based on not having a camera.

Aaah, alright. I'm sure I'd have noticed this if I wasn't already half asleep...

Good night, Devyland

Outside, in your house, wherever. The point is to be creative in your environment. It would be cool to see places around the world, but it can as simple as in your kitchen or as grand as a local tourist spot.

I have an idea already. Unfortunately I can't follow through with it :(

Back to the drawing board...

if i was to make a video of myself pouring hot coffee over myself, would it stand a chance of winning? that's about the height of my creativity right now.

can it be in audio format? =D. it'll be story of sorts, but with me making odd noises in the background, or something.

Your avatar actually fooled me for a split second, there, Mayday...I thought Tracy had posted!

Money was taken from my account, just waiting for PayPal to show it in the account there. But, since it DID go, I will post the rules:

Starting now, all submissions are to be ONLY be PM'd to me. Do not post anything that you want to actually submit on this thread. When you PM me, I will send you an email address you can send the stuff to. Don't get mad if I don't post super quick, I'm at work, and don't have access to some things there.

So, what to submit: I don't care. As long as it can be posted in this thread, (when the time comes), send it. A story? A story with pictures? A movie? Audio? Fine. Just be creative. It HAS to be coffee related, though. (Why? Because that's what Ziltoid wants, that's why. :D ) Keep in mind, it WILL be posted in this thread when the time comes.

I will update as regularly as possible for the names that I have submissions for. Anyway, the cutoff will be the 15th of May at 0000 GMT. If you are on the East Coast of North America, that's 7PM on the 14th, and on the West Coast it is 4PM on the 14th. In Australia it is either 8, 9 or 10 am on the 15th. Take a wild guess what time it would be in the UK ;)

On that time, all submission will be uploaded onto the thread. Then, everyone on the board will get a chance to vote for their favorite. The winner will be determined on the 18th of May, again 0000 GMT. I will PM the winners, and at that point, all I will need is an address to have the CDs sent to. In my experience, even here in Japan, it's never taken more than 5 days to get stuff from HevyDevy.

Good luck to all who participate.
