Mikael Akerfeldts solo in the song is amazing too, damn they must have had fun making that. I warn you though, this song is pretty addicting :D If only there was more than three songs by this band...

LOL, great stuff :D

The man is incredibly diverse, it's pretty cool.

Check out these links for some diversity:

Unicorn - Times of Change (really 80's like rock-stuff, from a demo in 1988... And as you can hear, he sounds pretty young)

Nightingale - Nightfall Overture (I really wanted to show you a rockin' song called "Atlantis rising", which puts you in a really good mood..But it wasn't on youtube, so you get this one instead, and its more melancholic.. The riffs and guitar sound in the beginning of Nightfall Overture reminds me very much of Devin's sound)

And this, ladies and gentleman, is also from Dan's "Moontower" album, and it's called "Uncreation", and IMO its the best track on that album:

Anyway, sorry for the fanboy-ish outburst, but to those who dont know him I just wanted to show other sides of him than death metal

No problem for showing this stuff ;) He's a cool guy indeed. I've had the pleasure of having some conversations with him through e-mail about music and recording and so on.

I got in contact with him originally because I was doing some music/recording-related course. And the leader of it was the first Opeth bassplayer, Johan. He then suggested that I mailed Dan about some recording stuff while saying hi from Johan :P

So you live in Örebro then, Sune?

Nope, I live in a small town in Denmark. Nightingale was on tour, and they happened to be playing near where I live, so I went there with a friend to see them (at the time I mostly knew Dan from listening to Bloodbath and Edge of Sanity, and had only heard very little from Nightingale, though I liked it).

Sounds cool though. Doesn't surprise me that he would help you out, seems like it's what a nice guy like him would do. It's amazing to me that he still works in a recordshop with all these musicprojects and bands on the side.. But hey, he's pretty down to earth it seems. :D

Ah I see. I misinterpreted and thought that both lived in the same city and that you happened to meet him. My mistake :P

And yeah, it was interesting to be able to talk about some of these things. He also sent some pictures of his studio during the beginning days etc.

Cant wait for this, any studio footage at all from this?, would be cool to see/hear the shenanigans. Who is Anneke btw, never heard of her, is she from a scandinavian metal band by any chance and how would everyone rate her? Worthy of addicted? Vey intrigued indeed!

God, it is hard to keep myself from getting over excited. This seriously sounds like the Dev album I've been waiting for. I just dont to get too excited- not because I think it wont live up to my expectations, but because I probably wont get to hear this thing for a long time.
