I'm hoping for some ripping guitar solos on this album...Dev?

I'm still thinking Addicted to be a combination of Accelerated Evolution and Punky Brüster. Heavy but not too complex with a load of poppy catchiness and positive energy.

Now that Ki's officially out... I am eagerly awaiting any snippets from Addicted!

I'd hop on the "I CANNOT FSCKING WAIT" train, but that would imply that because I am forced to wait I'd have to kill myself.. or something.

It's like a huge emotional fist...it kind of says 'FUCK THAT!!!!' in a way...

I know that Addicted is going to be a masterpiece, just because it is made by the main man, Devin Townsend!

I am very excited about Addicted and I am especially curious about the combination of dancable and heavy melodies.

But the waiting isn't really a problem for me, I am still having a great time listening to Ki!

I haven't posted anything on a Devin forum since about the time Synchestra came out. I loved that album a lot, and still do! But when Ziltoid came out I kind of felt I was drifting away from Dev's music toward something else. I guess my taste buds were changing, that's all.

So I took some time off and listened to some other great bands (such as Nickelback ) But when Ki came out I was "WTF! This album isn't any good at all, or wait... it's not that bad, no no wait, it's growing on me..." So this album turned the world upside down and I had to figure out what was going on. Now that I'm back up to speed and know that Dev has got his shit together (as much as is possible) I kind of feel drawn back in again. This music is more mature. There's more "space" or "room" for all kinds of different emotions on Ki. This is what get's me really really excited about Addicted, that it's a more mature Devin. There's humour, there's spirituality, the mystery, the anger but all of that with a higher awareness. More "mature" sounds so boring... I actually think I'll just call it more focused, more developed, more consciousness and awareness.

My hopes are so high for this new album, Addicted, that I don't know what to do with myself! I've always loved the catchy tunes on the previous records and I've always hoped for an album like this. Now it's coming true, and it's got my favourite drummer on it, and Devin is on top of his game.... Jesus, excitement excitement excitement!!

One of the things I'm the most excited about right now though, is Devins singing. On Ki I feel that you could sence a new depth on some of the songs... kinda hard to explain, but I did feel a sincerity there that I'm wondering if it shows on the new Addicted album.

To me it sounds like this has developed into a full blown classic Dev solo album with all the elements upped to the next level.

It shall be glorious im sure.

I liked when Dev said some is a bit like ocean machine some is a bit like physicist, that made me wee a bit.

Seriously though i am SO looking forward to this album, RVP sounds so fucking into it, i remember when synchestra was being recorded, Ryans descriptions were SPOT ON, so if he rekons its a masterpiece, it probably is!!

Yes indeed, let's hear it! I'm hoping for the part we saw on the video that was up only for a couple of days on youtube on Devin's channel where there was an image of japanese cats and Devin in front with some awesome beats (danceable) and killer riffs with Dev chants in the background, but I think they were demo for Deconstruction. I don't remember the title of the video but it was related to Deconstruction and orchestration. Please put that video back online that was the best one. I know I've been asking this for weeks now but I can't get it off my mind! I need it! I remember I was listening to it repeatedly so much it was awesome, I hope that's what addicted is, or deconstruction.

Yeah this is gonna be a very awesome summer I can feel it.

That is definitely the deconstruction vid..........I too was yearning for it 'til a willing party relieved me of my withdrawal. Mention it enough times and santa may come for you too!

I wonder if you are talking about that cartoon image of the creepy ass cat people and monsters or whatever with Dev in the middle of it all.....perfect image for whatever music was going on there. It was like the music you hear in your head when you wake up during rem sleep on a really hot day and you are all delirious.

Yea exactly that image. I had a dream a couple years ago, and in it I was listening to some new Devy music and it was the most awesome music I have ever heard. I think it may have been a premonition because it was similar to that of the deconstruction video.

Dev, please put that video back online.

DAMNIT, this is all so exciting ...

but I don't even have Ki yet. I hope it arrives soon - from everything I've heard about it so far, it's tops!
