I randomly picked up 'So' on vinyl from a charity shop here and it totally blew me away. Awesome stuff!

What else could you recommend?

Yeah, 'So' is great indeed. Also probably his poppiest album.

The other ones I would suggest are 'Up' (as mentioned), 'Peter Gabriel[3]' (its the one with his face on the cover and half of it is melting), and 'Passion'.

Peter Gabriel 1, 2, and 3 are all fairly artsy, but musically the 3rd one is a step above the others. It's also his darkest and most critically acclaimed work (my personal favorite). I would try this one first.

'Passion' is the film score to the movie "The Last Temptation of Christ". The music itself is supposed to portray the time period of the movie (Jesus' time... The music sounds similar to the music in Age of Empires). However, the music has a very modern edge to it. It's very very well done - really theatrical... You don't get to hear Peter's luscious voice much but that's certainly no pitfall. Hmm, on second thought maybe you should try this album first, instead.

'Up' is his latest studio outting. It's his most sophisticated release, released in 2002 after he spent nearly 10 years working on it. The album is about life, which isn't anything new, but he's 50+ so give him a break! :P. But yeah; birth, death, overcoming your fears, etc. You'll find it all on here. He spent a VERY long time making this album and it certainly shows.

I don't post here enough. I come on everyday, read all of the posts, and yet I never contribute. May today be the start of a chain of posting events for me!

What are the songs on PG3? I have the one with the "melty face" on it and "Security" as well as "So" and "Us." "Us" is my least favorite, for sure. "Security" is the best, I think.

I did not meatball and spaghetti my sleeping girlfriend.. I did on the otherhand just properly hold the 'running lowww' notes in the beginning of hallowed be thy name while singing along. I will take a win wherever I can.
