Please tell me you mainly bought it because it has a looper and/or drum machine. If not, why didnt you buy a POD X3 Live or Fractal Axe?!

Yeah I know - I'm on my way :D I just have to find a human-sized trunk first =O
In a futile attempt to end up in Poland one of these days at a show, I made my self learn a couple greetings in Polish. It's a little stalkery, I know  "cześć" is very hard to say. And that's just a greeting *_*

:help:

I was thinking the exact same thing Abydost *secret chuckle*

Oh, I bought this right now - because I've been hoping there would be one for a long time now! Finally!

It does have a looper, drums I can program myself if I need to. I went with this because I can switch on certain effects within a patch while playing live. I also have a lot more faith in the sturdyness/durability of the RP1000 as opposed to the X3 (metal vs. plastic). I'm not looking to build a rack (yet) as that is a science within itself it seems. I need something easy-to-learn, versatile and durable for live gigging. This one fit the bill.

O_o. Last I checked, my POD seems like its made mostly of metal. And you can switch effects per patch on/off and have 2 full effects chains running at once, per patch.

But a looper is an awesome thing to have, and I wish my POD had one.

The looper is great fun indeed. I had debated for quite a while between the GT-10, X3 and the RP1000, and some other candidates. The Boss GT-10 has so many features it's not even funny; might as well build a rack if you want to go with that. The X3 with its dual signal loop was very appealing (same applies to the GT-10), but the Line6 brand never did a lot for me (I've seen several people/bands play with their gear and the sound never was that impressive). Compared to the RP1000 it wasn't as sturdy, and reading a bunch of online reviews it seems to have durability issues especially for live-gigging purposes.

Before all these I had looked at the (more or less) new Peavey Vypyr modeling amps. They seem to have big issues with reliability, which I why I decided against one of those even though they sound fantastic... Maybe the next generation... :)

Little off-topic maybe, but are you in a band Alucard?

I just hate Boss's amp modeling/distortion. It always sounded so thin and too mid rangey for me. I mean, for a djent tone you NEED mids, and i've always got mine between 60 and 70 or so. But Boss's other effects are awesome.

I just love everything about my X3 Live. It's easy to record with, it's easy to work with and it sounds great in my opinion.

And no, I'm not in a band. I cant seem to find a group of musicians around here who have really any musical views like I do. I posted a massive blog about it on my facebook and myspace a while ago. Drummers are so hard to come by around here. I guess I'm just a lot like Dev with my music in a way, I'm just very particular about how I want it to sound/feel. That's why I use Guitar Pro and compose everything myself. But even that gets incredibly boring.

On the other hand, there is a band here who wants me to try out for them, but I just havent found the time with work and all.

Sorry, and this is taken a bit out of context...but these two thoughts side by side amused me quite a bit.

Yeah, I currently use a Boss ME-50 and wanted to have something different really. If I were to use it just in my bedroom I'd probably have gone for the Pod as well, but since I regularly play live I need to be able to rely that everything works and keeps working. I've seen a lot of reviews that slam Line6 for using so much plastic on an otherwise excellent unit, which is the main reason I didn't get it.

I see. Maybe you can try something like session drummers when recording? Not really a solution if you'd want to perform your stuff live as well though... Ahh, keep looking, even if just to keep the boredom at bay. :)

Anyway, getting back on-topic: I bought my mom a Michael Jackson greatest hits compilation while she's at home recuperating from surgery on her knee.

Some people actually manage a career out of this and get to listen themselves fuck up again and again and again for years on end.
