yay, to us - but he is celebrating this kind of voice on disc and especially live that "much", it's possible for some people (that are not completely into his style) not to hang on.. ;)

I dunno, maybe they just feel it suits their music better to not have it, but I think it's more about avoiding possible cheese factor. I'd love to discuss this more.

I think metal vocalists are going through what metal guitarists went through in the 90's, where suddenly it was 'uncool' to play solos, and to demonstrate practiced technique. Shredders became wankers. I think the same type of attitude is being applied to today's vocalists. "That guy practiced too much! There is no feeling in what he does!"

I'd love the music to be hugely popular, because I think it can provide a good service to people.

However, if we could do that without ME becoming hugely popular, I'd very much appreciate it.

Also, while I'm putting in requests... a bit more money is always welcome :)

Yeah, you just put the box-set up on presale, you'll get some money rolling in from me. :D
And I'm sure I won't be the only one!

Hmmm...afraid you've chosen a life where it's almost impossible to have one without the other. And you're just too good a performer...as for the money bit, we're all waiting here to give you some more. :)

tbh I perceive things bass akwards. I assume if I practice more and use vibrato...the MORE feeling there is in my singing. That being said, the better I get at vibrato...the funner it is...so eff anyon who doesn't like it lol.

I completely agree with that. To me, a person wants to practice and perfect their abilities in order be able to fully express themselves, without hindrances or limits. I think Devin actually said that the reason he practiced so much on his voice and his guitar is because he wanted all the tools available to express himself however he needed to.

Vibrato can get out of control and be gimmicky, but so can anything else when it is abused and not used with any feeling behind it. I personally love the sound of vibrato in vocals. Metal may be frowning on that right now, but the genre goes through so many phases and changes, fuck it. Do what you want. If it isn't popular now, it will be in a month.

Remember, it's the person going against the flow that makes the waves.

I just made that shit up. I'm not sure of the actual physics involved in making waves.

I also said in another post,

But if i could totally Give devin 100 bucks for a pre-order to ghost and decon then the rest for whatever he wants,

i would, he totally deserves it. He needs to get the recognition he deserves.

I'll say it again,
Dev is one of the rare artists whose albums I'll buy individually, then the box set after, because he is deserving of such collection.
I can only think of a few other bands whose releases I'm looking forward to this year, none greater than Decon & Ghost.
