I just want to say I'm really grateful for this. I've hated swearing ever since I was a kid due to these reasons, which alienates me I know. I get how swearing has its impact, it's just so overplayed and normal now. I understand it's place in SYL and it works right in DTB songs. In other music, movies, and shows it's so over done trying to say "I'm edgy and against the grain!" and loses all meaning becoming annoying instead. As has been mentioned all throughout here by others, my favorite musicians are also Devin and Mikael. Casual conversation and stage performance aside, the lyrical content focuses on art, meaning, and feeling rather than catchphrases demanding quick attention.
Maybe I'm just prude, but I've made a commitment to never swear and so far I've not in my 32 years of life.
