So, back to Djeconstruction...
Dev, do you think that the DTP would serve its purpose without Decon?

without Decon, the point of the dtp is invalid. It's the centerpiece. The themes of all the others revolve around decon.

Latest update:

...I'm fuckin' tired.

Isn't that how it always goes? The most fulfilling creative works are the ones that kick your ass the most.

I'm starting to find that out, anyway, with my own projects.

Anyway, I'm lookin forward to it, i'll be taking the day off to do a DTP listen-a-thon. Got a nice little private rock beach in San Francisco to go to and everything.

I just want to say I'm really grateful for this. I've hated swearing ever since I was a kid due to these reasons, which alienates me I know. I get how swearing has its impact, it's just so overplayed and normal now. I understand it's place in SYL and it works right in DTB songs. In other music, movies, and shows it's so over done trying to say "I'm edgy and against the grain!" and loses all meaning becoming annoying instead. As has been mentioned all throughout here by others, my favorite musicians are also Devin and Mikael. Casual conversation and stage performance aside, the lyrical content focuses on art, meaning, and feeling rather than catchphrases demanding quick attention.

Maybe I'm just prude, but I've made a commitment to never swear and so far I've not in my 32 years of life. Except when my tired brain mixes up syllables. Like that one time in Japanese class trying to say City Shinjuku... I also learned Vietnamese and did volunteer translation work. The word for Buddha in Viet is Phat, with the 'ph' being like 'phone' and a little mark over the 'a' making it an 'uh' sound with the 't' following that 'uh' sound a sort of swallowed 'ck'.

In short, I really appreciate albums that don't follow the metal stereotype and use meaningful lyrics.

Also, my favorite joke is 'what did the fish say when he ran into a wall?'
