you guys are crazy, it sounds nothing like SYL. kinda reminds me of terria era, specifically Universal; but with the humor of ziltoid.

I can kinda see where they got the syl from, cause it reminds me of The Zodiac cover off c:enter:###, i know he didnt do the instrumentation but the way his voice sounds, and I also agree that it sounds like universal.

In my case, I'm talking about the vocal approach/attitude, and not the music.

just cuz he didn't "play" the music, does that mean he didn't "write" (well, reinterpret) the music? just asking cuz i really don't know. i'd be really surprised if he didn't have a hand in it cuz it really does sound like his own version of the song

yeah, me too. but after a 2nd listen I loved this version. very original.

This available now, btw. I sampled the entire CD, but Dev's was the only one that I enjoyed. Probably due ti his approach. It seemed everyone else was taking the thing way too seriously. I purchased the song in iTunes.

Just bought the track on iTunes. Devin's voice is majestically powerful as always and he injects just the right amount of swing to keep it fun. Shame that the recording quality isn't very good. Bleh.

Is the quality much better than what is heard on Soundcloud or whatever that site was? If not, that's a real disappointment
