So, I'm looking to purchase copies of Ki and Addicted to go with my copies of Decon and Ghost when they are released. I was just going to download Ghost and Decon and wait for the boxset, but seeing how the DTP albums look like they're going to be the soundtrack of the rest of my life, I don't think I'd really mind having 2 copies of each.

My question here, is if I order from the HevyDevy website, will they come in the slipcases? It's probably a pretty dumb question, but I'd much rather figure it out here before I buy them and become disappointed.

If it is still for sale, the Special Edition version of Addicted from the HevyDevy site will come with a hand-painted slipcase, but the regular edition of Addicted will come without any slipcase. Ki does not ship with a slipcase, either.

Have no idea, but I'd assume not from HevyDevy, just from retailers. CD's from HevyDevy come directly from Devin, so except for anything listed as a special edition , you will be getting just the basic packaging. Oh, and a note from Tracy, his wife. It's worth ordering from HevyDevy just for that alone.

However, it may be different with Decon and Ghost. Nobody knows for sure right now.

I believe they will come with slipcases if you pre-order. That's one of my regrets, not pre-ordering Ki, so it will be the only album from the DTP I will have with no slipcase

Ordering from amazon gets you the slipcase. I lucked out buying Ki used and getting the slipcase, but with Addicted I didn't order from amazon and got the album without the slipcase (I e-mailed Tracy afterward to see if I could get a slipcase, but they don't have 'em, so she let me special order the special edition slipcase that HDR has at only a cost difference between the regular and special editions, thanks again if you read this! ), so I ordered the album again, this time directly from Amazon and finally got a slipcase... so I'm gonna play safe and get Decon and Ghost from Amazon, probably.

Dev has said in the past that they often only send out the most basic version of the packaging because they want to try to keep the cost down. Hence why Ki only cost like €9 from HDR, which is ridiculously cheap... Addicted then came in the slipcase in that package pre-order deal thing from CenturyMedia but again, I doubt HDR were selling it with the slipcase.

Basically, I'd say if you're going to buy it just get it from wherever you can get the package that you want. As much as Devin probably makes a bit more money off people buying direct from HDR, it's also good for the labels and distributors and tour promoters and all those types to see that Dev is still shifting units in shops and stuff.

I find it screwed up that local stores here still sell Ki with the slipcase, but not Addicted. When the latter first came out with the slipcase, I couldn't afford it at the time. When I could, I couldn't find a copy anywhere with a slipcase, so settled for a standard copy. Still wish I had a slipcase though, and I'll make sure I have enough funds saved for when Decon/Ghost are released.
