This, except I hope they're not on at the same time because besides those two and Gojira, there's very little on the bill I have much interest in. I wouldn't mind catching Hatebreed and I don't mind Machine Head or whitechapel, but that's about it.

If it was VH from 1998 or before, I could understand missing Dev to see them. Great show. However, this new/old version of VH isn't all that much to see.

According to the flyer, Van Halen are headlining, so will be likely last show of the night, and Dev will be playing in the middle segment of bands, so no worries of missing either. Gojira will be in the middle as well, though I don't know about the exact time.

Watain are playing, that should be cool.

I'd say so. I went to Soundwave earlier this year where Iron Maiden headlined and they played last. Then again, it's Iron Maiden, I'd be surprised if they'd played any other timeslot.

Ooooh, Watain. I forgot about that! :P

So, who's actually going to Soundwave Revolution? I have my ticket. I would have rathered seen DTP at a sideshow, but there are a few other bands I'll get to see that I already love (Gojira and Times of Grace). I used to be big into Machine Head too (first two albums are the shit), so that might be cool.

I also heard from official Soundwave people that there will be no sideshows which I think totally blows. But what can ya do?

^Get a Soundwave ticket then. Hopefully tax return will help. Hopefully they won't sell out when I can afford one.

Ummm, I got that one covered. :D

Something tells me this won't be one of the more popular Soundwaves, so I don't think it'll sell out. But hey, I could be wrong. The [s]Melbourne[/s] (Melton) one is out in bloody woop woop. So I think that may deter some.

Damn, I was trying to be smart and strike out the word Melbourne.

Ha. Yeah, the "get a ticket" response was more me talking to myself, and for others coming to the conversation.
Plus the last Soundwave had Iron Maiden and Slayer as headliners (and plenty other cool bands), so that's probably why it sold out in a blink.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, though. Cancel an entire festival because the second headliner pulled out? It hadn't even been officially announced who that was. People were buying tickets based on the lineup they had publicized, not because of the mystery "second headliner." There has got to be more to this story, but we'll probably never hear the truth. Knowing Van Halen's track record of poor decision-making, I wouldn't be surprised if they had something to do with it.

I am just hoping that even though SWR has been cancelled Devin will still put on a few shows in Australia. Particularly Melbourne.

I agree 100%. We can only hope the Dev can make his way here :) . If so, I'm gonna see him, no matter what.
