definitely remastered, the volume level is completely different from the actual album mastering (i.e. "Deadhead" is way quieter, but "Material" is pushed way harder). mostly just a lot more bass.

the pre-Synchestra stuff can't be re-mixed though, all the tapes were damaged in the Great Flood™.

"Material" definitely sounds better than the album, IMO. It's kind of strange that they chose that song over "Kingdom," which has become a live staple.

The one that made me really go "whoa!" was "By Your Command." There's a whole new crispness and clarity to that song on this compilation. I'm hearing all kinds of subtle things I hadn't heard before. And the drums seem further up in the mix, as well.

The extra bottom-end on some of the tunes is awesome, too.
