I was very disappointed with the mix for Deconstruction which I believe is the main reason for my lack of enthusiasm for the album. Being able to hear all the subtly and extra vocalists and the orchestra properly should restore the album in my eye (ears).

there's only so much a remaster can do to help or kill a mix. i can guarantee any amount of compression and/or headroom saved on the new master is going to be insignificant; the album is meant to be loud and the loud parts are still going to be crushed. CM remasters especially seem to focus on actually squeezing the dynamics more while bringing down the overall level — see the horrible City remaster and the mastering on Chaos Years for proof.

i'm really unsure why Decon and Ghost have gotten new masters for this; perhaps there was an issue with the regular one, or CM/Dev thought they could be closer to Addicted and Ki, etc.

What I notice in the InsideOut description is, on frontpage "This special packaging (incl. print and 10”) is limited to 500 copies worldwide." and in the item description "Limited to 2.500 box sets in Europe (5.000 worldwide!)". So… 500 or 5000?

And yes, no word about the autograph but I hope there will be.

I placed my pre-order thru Insideout a few seconds ago. Got the special-special edition, naturlich. Postage to Finland was 18 euros, which, for some weird reason, is almost half of what they were asking for the Deconstruction/Ghost/t-shirt bundle posting. And this item is actually pretty large. Weiiird.

Wut? How do you go "temporarily out of stock" on a preorder?

Did I miss out? I hope not!

There's only 500 copies of the extra special edition, and 5000 copies total of both editions together worldwide.

Thanks to the poster who said it was available on Inside Out! I'd been checking constantly the last few days but was looking in the wrong damn place! Although I do think Omerch may include something extra I couldn't risk the deluxe version selling out so bought it at Inside Out - €103 but relived that it's placed.

I found the idea of remastering a little odd, especially so soon since the albums' release. Bit of a kick in the nuts to the original remasterer. I'd love Devin to explain the reasons/needs for it. Having said that I probably wouldn't notice any difference!

Thanks for the link; watched the videos on that page... interesting stuff; interviews with Dev never fail to intrigue. The article mentions again that Deconstruction/Ghost were remastered for Contain Us, and call me crazy, but I actually hear differences in the small clips of Planet of the Apes/Juular that pop up in embedded videos. Just listen to Planet of the Ape's intro - there's this rumbling bass drone underneath the music, at points, that I've never heard in the original; little differences in Juular, too... I think they actually sound better/clearer, to be totally honest.

Dev, if you're listening, care to comment?

What makes you think these are the remastered clips? Nothing in the video description says anything about the remaster. To my ears, it sounds exactly the same.

Hell yeah! I just ordered the most exclusive Contain Us package from InsideOut!

Those extra € 10,- just don't matter anymore on such a large sum of money...

^ This +1. I'm getting a bit confused about Ghost 2. It would be a weird experience with all the project outakes on the one CD :?
