Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

I can't stand Porcupine Tree (I've only heard Deadwing and In Absentia...). They just seem like another inflated rock band that just takes overused rock ideas and mixes them with overused prog ideas with extremely trite results. They could at least do interesting stuff like Khoma or Day Without Dawn do (then again I might just like what they do because they remind me of Neurosis, and I can't resist anything Neurosis-esque), rather than using riffs and atmospherics that were old 30 years ago.

So yeah, Booo Ptree... BOOO

hehe, I don't think you can compare 2 bands like Khoma and PT in the first place...two different types of music. Besides, Khoma are not doing anything that Earthtone9 have not done years ago either :P

Hey now, lets not get off my main point; that mellotron scratch ends with a vocal harmony worthy of the Backstreet Boys

Ouch, all this anti-Porky is really a bummer, man. The Tree RULES and you know it.

Ahem.

In other news...I got my ticket for Glasgow! Woo! I wonder who the support will be. They have had something interesting the last few times.

Also, what is the new Blackfield like?

Wagga wagga...

Hmmmm... There is a difference between writing and performing. Performance wise, tight as anything. Writing wise....sounds like a pig being slaughtered. Sorry for the rip, but I think it had to be said.

And all this posted in a thread about the forthcoming Porcupine Tree-album? Now that's what I call off-topic!
