Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Right on, Juz. I think Queen left abit of a vacume musically that not to many have continued.
One group I like alot but few others seem to is the band Sparks! I just like them is all. They remind me alot of Queen, especially lately. Their new cd is very cool.Hello Young Lovers. Dick Around is the single for the album.Anyone else love/hate Sparks and the Mael brothers?

That's two pics of the same guy (Munly Munly). And no, it's not comedic...far from it.

Just listen to them, dammit! ;)

Naglfar - Harvest

Like a perfect mix of Dissection, Marduk and (new) Satyricon.

Jesu - s/t

Isis and/or Godflesh enthusiasts should check these guys out, seeing as Justin K. Broadrick (ex-Godflesh member) is one of the members of this group. Thick distorted guitars creating a wall of drone with doom-ish drums as the backbone to hold this monolith of sludge together. It's woven with many layers, so a few spins are in need to fully appreciate this gem.

Very nice. I'm listening to their myspace tracks at the moment and I've really liked what I've heard so far. Thanks!

I am too. This is really, really excellent stuff. I know most of my posts lately have been along the lines of "this is really good, thanks"... and that's because I've been discovering a great deal of excellent new music lately.

But I tell you what... I don't think anything has been as emotionally involving as Munly. Just as dark as dark as folk/country/gothic can be. Beautifully, lushly so. Have a listen to a couple of tracks if you don't believe me. Start with Big Black Bull and go from there. I'll be ordering a CD or 2, no question.

Oh, and on the off-chance that Devin is reading this, check this stuff out man, it's outstanding. ;)

the faceless are a tech death band that use keyboards in with the style. I decided to get their album Akeldama and I wasn't disappointed! They're guitarists are pretty amazing.

I hate the production on Akeldema. That sort of super clean stuff is really lame for death metal :(
