Earth Day: 5:29 to 5:45

No need for 30 seconds to say it all...

Hmmm...I guess i would say something from Choirs Of The Eye by Kayo Dot. Perhaps one of the best albums I've heard.....it has so many beautiful short parts....off topic but, anyone into this band?

In the same song where he screams "fuck you!" and there's that wall of sound, then after it has this soaring effect. Moment of the album for me. The intro to Truth is another 30 seconds of pure joy.

I refuse to speak of any "best 30 seconds" or "best part of a song" etc, but I just come from listening to Tool's 10.000 Days after not having put the album in my CD player for quite a while, and wanna give an honorable mention to the "Such a heavy burden to be the one..." part in Rosetta Stoned. Unbelievable how intense this part is. And... Really, beyond words.

I'm pretty sure this has been a thread somewhere before. Oh well, my opinion hasn't changed since then. I said it last time, and I'll say it again.

The best 30 seconds of music ever recorded anywhere in the history of mankind is without doubt between 3:23 and 3:54 of The Fluke.

You know, the bit where it switches to 3/4 time and the lyrics go

Writing and eating and shitting and sleeping (Down and under)
In rain or in shine masturbate till I'm blind (feet take over)
In the cause and effect of the one troubled segment (you can't hurt me)
Of time and of place and the look on your face (anymore)
And I write and I eat and I shit and I sleep (Down and under) (Aaaahhh!)
And I eat leafy greens nearly three times a week (feet take over) (Aaaahhh!)
And I'm not unafraid but no longer afraid of you (not afraid of you) (Aaaahhh!)
Anymore (anymore)

and all the vocal layering makes me almost cry cause it's so fucking awesome and perfect and majestic and emotional.

I've been trying out new home threatre amp / speaker setups recently and those 30 seconds of music from The Fluke is one of my favourite speaker auditioning pieces. Unbelievable how amazing those 30 seconds sound when played really REALLY loud. Especially the arpeggio Aaaahhhh's in the second half. Guaranteed goosebump music.

Yeah, I remember that you mentioned this part before. And thanks for the reminder - it definitely would have to go on my list (if I made a list, ahem).

So many adjectives one should use very carefully...

Big surprise, I agree on all of them
