Paprika

An awesome new anime movie. Seriously awesome. I think it's the best material I've seen from Japan so far. Very trippy and well animated. The main subject is dreams, so it makes for an interesting ride.

Perfect Blue

Found out about this through Paprika. It's by the same guy. I didn't like it nearly as much, but it was good. It's about a small-time pop star who goes into acting, and starts going insane, pretty much.

The Dead Girl

Nasty, on par with Requiem for a Dream. But good, I guess. I didn't really enjoy it though.

Fantastic 4 - Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Fairly entertaining, good special effects as always. Kids enjoyed it. The Silver Surfer was the best bit for me because I always thought he was a darker, better character anyway. Deserves a movie of his own.

Sweetie rating: Ate about half of them.

Smokin' Aces - Very nice. Nice little story, great action, good acting (most of the time at least... Ben Affleck is in it) - 8/10

Internal Affairs - Cool. The original "The Departed". It's not better, because there's no Scorsese, or any of the amazing cast in the US version, but still, a very good Chinese movie. - 8/10

Why Did We Laugh? - Documenary about late 'rock n roll comedian' Sam Kinison. Interesting, funny and sometimes moving. As a documentary it fails, but Sam Kinison was a great comedian. 6/10

The Baron Of Munchhausen (for the ... 400th time or something) - Fantasy movie (what a surprise) from Terry Gilliam. I love all his movies, except Brothers Grimm, so this one is no different. Very original story, beautiful settings, and stays 'fairytal-ish', without getting too childish. 7/10

Trying to keep Devin (my son) entertained today so we just finished up on A Bug's Life and now we are watching Finding Nemo.

Bought them both today and I had not watched them in a while. Disney/Pixar makes some damn good films. Lots of inside humor that appeals to my inner 5 year-old.

Nice choice. It's Infernal Affairs, at least here in Australia, btw.

Anyway, I love that movie and still haven't watched The Departed as I was disappointed that Scorsese didn't have anything better to do than remake someone else's great idea. But I'm sure it's excellent and I will get around to it one day.

Casino Royale

I saw this with my girlfriend on the weekend, I found it to be more gritty then the others. The new Bond seems to kick ass, more so then the last few. Don't get me wrong, Pierce Bronson was good. But this new guy makes it alot more believable...apart from when he jumped off that crane and didn't break his legs. The action is fantastic, never a dull moment. The humor used is alot more darker then the past few movies, it isn't so "American" with some shitty punch line after an i'll fated death or some sexual innuendo involving a hot chick.

Plus I found this new Bond girl to be the most attractive woman out of the whole series, she was fucking awesome. :D Great tits and face.

If you haven't see it, do so...bloody fantastic.

You're absolutely right. It's Infernal Affairs... Wow, I never ever noticed that.

Bandidas - About as bad as a movie with Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek in it could be. But still... it was fun... and you know, had Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek 7/10
