It definitely surprised me, too. What did you think of that creepy Pale Man? Freaky stuff!

yeah, that one was pretty freaky indeed! Kinda reminded me of some crazy creature from Silent Hill.

just had to buy it.

Now I wish I didn't.
It has Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts, so I had hopes
for this one.

But NooOooooOo!

Horrible.
Just horrible.

Well, uh... it COULD have something to do with the fact that this movie is a sequel to a trilogy. No I'm not kidding.

Okay, here's the summary and full descriptions later on:

The Hunt for Red October - 4,5 / 5
Patriot Games - 3,5 / 5
Clear and Present Danger - 3,5 / 5
The Sum of All Fears - 3 / 5 (though a half-point extra for the nuclear bomb actually exploding)
The Bourne Identity - 3,5 / 5
The Bourne Supremacy - 3 / 5
The Bourne Ultimatum - 3,5 / 5
Drunken Master - 2,5 / 5
Heat - 4,5 / 5

The Hunt for Red October 4,5 / 5

Well, it's a classic for a good reason. The cast was pretty much perfect, and the action is never lost even when almost the entire movie occurs in the same setting. Not a single moment of boredom either, even when it's well over 2 hours long.

Patriot Games 3,5 / 5

An excellent continuation to the Jack Ryan series. Perhaps a little too traditional compared to The Hunt for Red October, and thus far from a classic. It's a very interesting and well done movie though and brings me many memories from years earlier when I read the book. The action is nice though.

Clear and Present Danger 3,5 / 5

Maybe slightly better of the two Ford's Jack Ryan movies. This one has all-round better pacing and action, though maybe not all that interesting either to be a classic. It's a fun friday evening movie.

The Sum of All Fears 3 / 5

After a long break, it was time for another movie in the Ryaniverse. Sadly this one is even a further drop from the greatness of The Hunt for Red October. Perhaps a little too ordinary action flick ála Bond movies, but the nuke really helped the movie and its mood, bring it up a little from the swamp. Not bad.

The Bourne Identity 3,5 / 5

An extremely well done and different type of agent movie, well in order. A bit more serious and realistic than other recent ones, and that saves this movie from a lot. Very interesting basic plot for a book series and it works so well in the movies too. Too bad there's only so much you can derive from a good book to make it good on screen. This is no different, there's just something missing to make it a classic. But pretty good overall.

The Bourne Supremacy 3 / 5

A little bit too similar to TBI, but works well in the end. It's always nice to hear Russians speaking Russian and not broken english with an accent. The action is pretty intense, but in so takes a little bit out of the movie. The Irena Neski scene felt a little bit like an afterthought and was a bit clumsy, which is pretty bad directing. This movie works well in the trilogy though, so not too bad.

The Bourne Ultimatum 3,5 / 5

Pretty much non-stop action that never lets you go. Works a little bit better and at points almost gives me an X-Files mythology episode feel, which is very good. But more and more action with even more far-fetched outcomes, so it's no classic either. Very good movie in the series though, and leaves room for the fourth and fifth one: Ludlum died before he could finish the fourth and fifth books, but he gave them to another writer and apparently the other one has done that, so there may well be more movies.

Drunken Master 2,5 / 5

Quite intense martial arts movie and with some occasional funny lines. But not even close to Jackie Chan's best movies. The combat is pretty nice to look at though. Very creative and bombastic. Don't expect a lot from this one though. May work as a sunday afternoon movie.

Heat 4,5 / 5

Let's see if I can do this in 30 seconds flat. A very, very good movie with perfect timeline balance in both the action and pacing. Lots of interesting characters and the action never loses momentum. Simply a great movie, and the ending is pretty much perfect.

I am really frustrated, I ordered my Pan's Labyrinth
two weeks ago, and it's still on it's way!
They said that they couldn't deliver from the shipment
they thought they could, but a new one would come in
few days and delivery would be only few days late.

But NoooOooo!

:storm:

(apologies for off topic :D)

Unknown - 3/5

It starts out as a pretty decent set-up, kinda like Memento meets Resevoir Dogs, but the plot really suffers, when the director chooses to give hints what's happening, via flashbacks. The story gets predictable really quick, and the whole movie seems to go really fast and sloppy. The acting is pretty good; there are two of my favorite actors in this one, Joe Pantoliano and Peter Stormare.
Catch it on tv, if you can...

Accepted - 1,5/5

The only reason I rented this comedy, was Lewis Black, who is the only funny actor in this whole trainwreck. Okay, there's some college girls in their bikini's, which also makes it a little bit more watchable.
It's a pretty standard college-comedy, a genre I'm getting sick off anyway. Justin Long plays the lead, who I like in Die Hard and in the Mac commercials, but that's about it.
Anyway, it's crap.. I have nothing to say about this one.
