Saw 1408 yesturday. It started out really good with a nice and spooky buildup but sadly went downhill halfway in just throwing scare after scare at the viewer. And then it just isn't scary anymore. I read it's been called a modern The shining, but that's just bull.

5/10

I'll never forget when I saw it in theatres and how un-impressed the old couple sitting near me and my friends were at the part with the main character wanking off to the doll in the bathroom.

Hitman:

I thought the first half of the film was excellent, right up until the fight in the train carriage. Then it seemed to falter for the rest of the film with some great moments, and other iffy moments with some iffy acting by supporting players.

Overall it's pretty good, particularly considering the history of videogame to movie conversions, but it has nothing on other assasin films like the Bourne movies due to that having superior casting, writing and direction.

It's worth watching because it will be better then most people expect, but nothing special or remarkable.

Olyphant is actually ok as 47, and I think the actual guy who voices 47 in the games has a small part as a contact later in the film.

It's not a perfect film by all means, but it's among the best of the videogame films (of which I consider Silent Hill to be the best so far).

It is pretty mental, huh? We saw it the other day. Grendel makes one hell of an entrance!!

Some parts of this movie were downright dodgy and others were brilliant.

Beowulf - it was actually pretty good...apart from the fact that I had to sit with my fingers in my ears all the way through the movie as the cinema had it waaay too loud, it was just ridiculous!
