360 will be losing some steam this year. No good exclusives other than Splinter Cell Conviction and the possibility of Gears of War 2. PS3 on the other hand has Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4(this game alone will sell about 1 million systems in the US), Resistance 2, Killzone 2...and a few others i cant think of right now. Not to mention all 360/PS3 games are releasing at the same time now due to increased usability of the developers kit that Sony offers it's devs.

For all you old-school Rez junkies, the Xbox 360 is getting "Rez HD" for purchase in their virtual arcade! I've seen footage of the update, and not having any "jaggies" on the lines makes the game look ten-times better. Now, if I only had a 360...

The original Resistance was a PS3 exclusive, so I kinda doubt that Sony would let that gem fall out their hands. And I've heard that Metal Gear is going to go multi-platform, but I've also heard that it is just a rumor. It is possible for one, or even both, to eventually end up on another console (don't count the Wii out...they could get Metal Gear, as well). But if Sony knows what they're doing, they should do everything in their power to hang onto their two best series on the PS3 thus far. Let's not forget how much PS3s are lacking in sales compared to 360s and the hard to find Wii...

How funny that this is the last post of the thread right now. I'm waaaay behind on video games (having very young children and a job will do that to you). I don't even own an XBOX 360 or PS3 yet, though I'm hoping to get a 360 in the next few months.

Over the holidays, though, I bought God of War 1 since I heard it was good and fired up the old PS2. Up to now I'd mostly been playing Guitar Hero but I got frustrated with the orange fret. Just too hard to make my 36 year old fingers learn new tricks. When you can't get past the first song on hard, it's kinda of a bummer.

So, I bought GoW and loved it! I played all the way through on Normal and decided to try it on God mod now. I got all the way up to Pandora's temple and saved the game. The next time I tried to load my game it would just hang on the "Loading" screen. Damn. Had to start over. I usually rotate my saves into different slots but this time I was only saving the God mode game on the one slot. Big mistake. Oh well. I'm back working my way through the Rooftops of Athens. Apart from a couple sections that are stupidly hard (Blades of Hades!!11!!!!11!!one and that little underwater section pissed me off) I've really enjoyed playing the game. I bought it for like $20 and also got Devil May Cry 2 for $10 so I might play that one next. I guess GoW2 is for PS2 also so I will get that as well.

I can't wait to play BioShock and Half-Life two when I get an XBOX. I've been tempted by the PS3 lately because it's backward compatible (I think) and because of the BluRay player, but XBOX360 has too many good games.

I'm in the same boat, regarding 'next-gen' (current now) consoles.
Regarding GOW, I managed to make it through the second hardest difficulty(whatever that was), but even then I had to cheat and use one of the special costumes. I'm currently playing through GOWII on God difficulty (second highest difficulty) without too many problems.

As for PS3 backwards compatibility, it depends what model you buy. Some of the new ones aren't.

I bought my little brother's PSP last week.
I got two games, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (I suppose that's the name )
and some other similar game, name of it, I cannot recall.

Now I am dying to know what games to buy!
I got to try these:
- Tekken: Dark Resurrection
- Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory
- Wipeout Pure

And all of these games just.. They just don't do it.
I used to like Wipeouts a lot, but this one is just not
clicking.

Any comments on LocoRoco?

Since when? I'm sure if a 360 release date for mgs4 had been announced I'd have heard about it. Haven't heard anything about Resistance 2 on 360 either.

I don't think Resistance would show up on 360 since the development team seems to be very close to Sony. Metal Gear Solid on the other hand has been rumored for a long time. I think it might depend on the sales on PS3. Very often "exclusive" games somehow appear on another console if the sales weren't too good.

It sounds like you could like the DS too. If it comes to quirky games on handhelds then that one has quite a few of them. I think the PSP is more for "traditional" gaming in that sense. Locoroco seems to be very different though. I've seen some good reactions on gaming sites.

Resistance and MGS are BOTH PS3 exclusives, Konami has shot down the rumors of MGS4 on 360 multiple times...Konami doesnt like Microsoft. And Resistance...are you kidding me? That was THE PS3 exclusive at launch. If 360 gets Resistance and MGS, PS3 gets Galo and Gears of War.
