I will get it later this week, and the videos I've seen of it,
it looks like something someone as twisted as me could enjoy :D

It sounds like you could like the DS too. If it comes to quirky games on handhelds then that one has quite a few of them. I think the PSP is more for "traditional" gaming in that sense. Locoroco seems to be very different though. I've seen some good reactions on gaming sites.[/quote]

After playing two days almoust non-stop, I can say that LocoRoco is
- VERY highly addictive
- VERY highly amusing
- VERY different
- Recommendable to ANYONE who can play

It is weird, looks strange, doesn't have too many buttons to use in game,
but that's all just a plus!

Go on, try it! :D

And I've been wondering about buying DS too, since you can have pink ones too..

Hehe, I know what you mean. Especially youtube is quite something. From what I've seen, everyone commenting is always 100 times better than the musician, athlete etc in the video ;)

If I could get a hold of a PSP I would certainly try out that game. I remember seeing many surprised previews from game shows when the game was first revelealed. They didn't expect it to be that fun initially it seemed. Speaking of DS, the one lying around the house here is actually the pink version :P

Unintentional then  ;)

I must admit that I've never tested Nintendogs though. Which dog would you buy? It was a crazy hit in Japan though. Everyone from little kids to elderly women and business men were waiting in long lines outside the stores at release day I remember.

Most of the odd stuff that I've tested was on the Dreamcast console. One of the games being one where you were a ghost in someone's appartment. The goal was to for example move things when the owner was away to make him confused. Or lock him out so he has to crawl in via the balcony, hehe. Or do annoying things while he was at home. Eventually crazier stuff happened.
Another odd one was taking care of some fish with a human head which you could actually talk to and he remembered things about you and so on. He liked to say bad stuff at you too, heh. Eventually he started evolving but I never finished the game since he died while being some kind of frog. I had forgotten to check out the game and his aquarium for a couple of days :P

Just finished Bioshock. Beautiful game, most stylish I've ever played I think, setting and story are awesome, but I still think that linearity is a major flaw and reduces replay value to zero for me. Oh well, charms of story-driven games.

I'm wondering about views of the author of script. Looks like a stab at rationalist, objectivist, libertarian or whatever you call it way of life after all (wanted no gods and no kings? BAM, you're screwed). And there's "Dawkins law" book on the shelves next to ones about eugenics later in the game. Makes you think doesn't it.

Although I am a huge Metal Gear Solid fan I'll have to admit that MGS3 sucked a lot. After finishing 2 God-knows-how-many-times I finally got no.3 in my sweaty hands.

So disappointing. And the worst part is that there are basicly only 2 reasons why it sucked and both could be easily fixed and MGS3 would have another masterpiece.
1. The camera angle. How the hell one is supposed to be unseen when you can see only a couple of metres in front of you and the guards spot you from miles away?!?
2. When they do spot you, you can easily kill each and every one of them so why even bother sneaking?

Even with different difficulty settings?
I'm going to have to restart the game now that I have a larger monitor. No big deal, I wasn't that far into the game progress-wise anyways. :)

Oh, saw a bit on G4 about LEGO INDIANA JONES! http://www.lucasarts.com/games/legoindianajones/ :D

MGS3 did not suck. For being on PS2, it had amazing graphics, and introduced some new gaming elements (camo, curing, the CQC system, etc). Plus, the bosses were very memorable: the battle with The End being probably the best in the game (how many other games let you roam so freely during a boss fight, allowing you to fight for hours trying to snipe your opponent, all while trying to maintain your stamina and not get shot).

1. Get MGS3: Subsistence. They addressed the camera angle issue and gave players a new, more controlable camera. All you have to do is push in the right thumbstick and you can control the view freely. But as for the not being seen part, get used to using the first-person view mode and memorizing enemy patterns and level layouts. It may take some time, but this game takes some patience.
2. It is a STEALTH game. Sure it can be fun to run-and-gun, but the point is to not be seen. If you are escaping alert situations too easily, try playing on Extreme. Also, you get rewarded if you are not spotted once throughout the duration of the whole game. If you kill lots of people, though, you'll have a long-ass walk through a "certain part" later in the game.

Yeah, I've played this game a few times. [/MGS fanboy]

I've beat MGS3 at least 5 times. Everytime i have a great time playing it and love watching the cinematics throughout.

The very ending of the game is like watching a CG movie.

Very very anxious for Red Faction Guerrilla, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, GTA4, MGS4, and a few others. Gonna be a great year for games.

I bought Lost Odyssey the other day, man its awesome. I find it alot more enjoyable then the last few Final Fantasy games, the main character isn't a whinging little kid who seems to cry every 5 seconds and the battle system is awesome. Some of the bosses are bloody insane, you have to fight them about 4 times before learning their ins and outs. Graphics are amazing, plus Im shocked at the size of the game...4 discs, lol! I'll be on this one for awhile.

Also picked up Devil May Cry 4: Collectors Edition, what can I say. Bloody awesome, takes me back to the first game, good solid gameplay, very challenging and has impossible difficulties which is what I like to see. Great game, if you thought DMC 3 was to hard you'll probably like the new installment, they've balanced out the difficulties.

AlucardXIX wrote:Wow 4 discs on the 360(right?) That's insanity.

Tell me about it. Final Fantasy X was only one disc and that was roughly 140 hours of play.

Im scared to think how long Lost Odyssey will go for.

yea i got Lost Odyssey and Devil May Cry 4 as well

DMC4 is a alright, though i would say the game rests only on the merits of its gameplay/graphics somewhat
Dante and his bunch never stood out, or really interested me, they have that weird Japanese bravado/macho/waxed chest attitude, and its weird
the story is mostly irrelevant to me as well, but its fun to whack the bad guys

havent played enough Lost Odyssey to warrant full thoughts on it, but it seems decent, and definitely a time-sink
