Women should play games, Biert! I like playing with girls on games like Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on Xbox Live, especially when they are actually good!

Srsly, if women didnt play games it would be a massive sausage fest and that would suck...i mean for the most part it already is because girls online are few and far between.

I'll have you know I'm very good at Snood and Apeiron.

Actually I'm not too bad at a few of the Wii games. Just can't work that damned toy guitar thing! :P

Yet you continue to do so.

On a sad sidenote: I misplaced my Gameboy Color and games. :( No more Tetris for me!

Are there any other peoples here who have had an eye on the upcoming game Mirror's Edge? It looks pretty innovative and original. Even though the first-person view has been done before, this game seems to be taking it to the next level. Plus, after hearing that you can go through the entire game without ever needing to fire a gun, I'd really to attempt that (just as I had in MGS4)!

I just saw something about it today and it looks interesting indeed. A totally different feel and style compared to the usual games with first person views. I would have preferred a third person view though for that type of game.

I still play that game!

Yup! :D

It's a bit frustrating but very very awesome.

Just heard that David Hayter is writing the screen play for the Metal Gear Solid movie with Hideo Kojima!

I thought he'd already sent them a script and they'd rejected it?

That's the rumor that I heard. As long as Uwe Bowl doesn't have anything to do with it...

First legitimate badass in cinema since Bruce Willis though. They don't make leading men like they used to :(

I'm excited for Mega Man 9! I've been playing the old NES Mega errr Men my entire life. Mega Man 9 is a return to form for the blue bomber, hell yes.

Tell that to my girlfriend who is a big fan of horror games, our common favorite Shenmue and online RPG's. Or better yet, don't tell her, I don't mind her having that hobby ;)

About MGS as a movie, I don't really like the idea actually. The series is already very movie like and condensing the game into the length of a regular movie might damage the pacing and flow. Plus the fact that I kind of identify Snake with the way he looks and sounds. Having another face, even slightly different, could feel awkward and somewhat "alien" I think. And they could of course dub the voice, but this isn't really optimal of course.

I kind of agree. As a rule these days I tend to prefer the best cinematic (for want of a better word!) style games to most movies these days.

Half Life 2, GTA, MGS etc... all brilliant. And the thing is, I don't really see what's to be gained from making movies from them, other than money. What can you really say with films based on games that you can't say in the games themselves? Not much! In fact film has become the limited, restrictive genre, rather than vice versa. Which is really freaking cool if you've been into games for a long while!

It's all about the cash. Similar deal with the WOW movie. I might go see it if it looks good, but it really is just an exercise in revenue raising.

Oh, and on the girl thing, my wife plays Zelda, SM Galaxy and a bunch of stuff on the PC. girl+game=bliss
