Don't forget to patch it! Aside of obligatory screwing up your old savegames it changes a lot.

I forgot about that, last game I've played off Steam was HL2. I mean, not off Steam, but boxey edition still connects with Steam and makes weird things (I don't know what for).

So I bought a recalled copy of LittleBigPlanet a week before it is supposed to be officially released globally. My friends and I went to a local game store just to browse, and I had no intention of buying a new game. Then I saw it, sitting their on the shelf with a inticing glow about it, practically saying "buy me, buy me!" I was considering buying it a little later, but it was a recalled copy that they just left on the shelf, so I figured I might as well go ahead and buy it since I was going to eventually anyway.

To sum up nearly everything in the game, I will quote Ziltoid:

"It's so beautiful..."

Went and bought Saints Row 2.

After playing Saints Row 2 for a decent amount of time now, I gotta say its better then GTA: IV. The whole aspect of the game is fun, even though the graphics are no marvel there still very impressive for such an open world game of that size.

There is barely any loading time as the majority of the loading is at the initial start up, which only takes like 5 seconds. The more you play, the more cool stuff you get to unlock and use to your advantage.

The amount of customization is ridiculous, there seriously is to much. You'll probably spend a good 30 minutes at the start of the game just selecting what you want to look like, and as you progress further you can even select what your house/crib looks like, to how your gang should be dressed and what cars they drive.

The story is quite in depth and pick ups on alot of issues that were left in the first game. The game has matured more, but still keeps a sleazy and childish charm to it.

The only let down of the game is its on-line function. Lag seems to be the only issue with online play, even if you're playing a game in a local server...yet I hope this will be improved in the next update. Co-op is quite impressive, if you have already completed certain missions in co-op and decided to play alone in a campaign, you will be given the chance to do those missions again or skip them to a mission you have no completed yet.

Oh, one more thing. The game makes reference to "Ultor", the same corporation in the Red Faction series. Found that pretty amusing. There is also a hilarious moment in the game where you get kidnapped by a bunch of Jamaican drug dealers, start hallucinating from all the fumes in the car and spend 2 hours walking around stoned in the game. lol!

In a word: amazing! I'm not able to take it online until the release (for fear that Sony will hunt me down for having the game early), but because of that I played the Story mode a lot. There are TONS of unlockables in that mode, and all of which can be used for the custom level creator. Stickers, vehicles, scenery, tools, building materials, etc...not to mention awesome Sackboy/girl costume customization objects (many of the ones offered in the Story mode reflect different cultures in the world). The gameplay is simple but addictive, with puzzles ranging from easy physics problems to jumping puzzles that require expert timing. One could play through the game as a single player, but if you want to truly experience this game, you need at least one other friend to tag along. Many levels have puzzles that require more than one player to solve, awarding them with special customization goodies. There are some oddities when changing depth in the playing planes, but only rarely. Mini-games are also featured and offer a good quick break to the action (drag racing to point-whoring and everything inbetween). My friend and I beasted through some of the Story mode last night, but we still only achieved about an average of 60% of items unlocked for each individual level that we've played so far! The level design is beautiful and some things may even take a second or third play through in order for you to take notice.

The custom level creator is great. I have some friends here at my school that are in game design and have a love/hate relationship with LBP because of its ease-of-use in editing and designing levels! My only stipulation is when one tries to use a new tool or object...in order to use it, one has to watch a tutorial on how to use it. They are quick and help the player get a good understanding of the item's function, but when you have to watch one for nearly every item, it can get kinda tedious. Also, if one player watches a tutorial they don't have to watch it again, but if another player tries to use a new tool and haven't watched the tutorial themselves, they have to watch it. And if you have more than one player in the mode, the camera kinda has a mind of its own, so its better to limit the players involved to 1 or 2 people. But those are the main negatives I found in the entire game. You can attach nearly anything to anything and, as they say, you are only limited by the size of your imagination. Publishing levels for others to play is a snap, too. I haven't taken the game online yet (because of the aformentioned Sony-raping-me thing) but I did manage to take the beta online when I had it last week. I only got slowdown a couple of times, and connecting to a level took 10-30 seconds. The custom levels ranged from the uninspired to the downright hilarious to the intricate and awe-inspiring. I don't know if will still be up to play, but if any takes the game online when they get it, look for a God of War level...I found it during the beta and its freakin' great!

So basically, I highly recommend this game. 8)

I think it's made by Volition right? The same people who made Red Faction.
