He also got Left 4 Dead, though. Killing zombies > running. :D

The overly white scenery is a statement to the 1984 Big Brother style government they have. It shows how sterile everything is in their world. I think its very suiting for a game like Mirror's Edge. I just hope they make a second, because they absolutely set it up for a sequel.(Plus the music was the shit in ME)

Regardless of its symbolism, the whitewash just makes gameplay less exact for a control system that demands precision. Besides, Orwell's 1984 had substance, but the ME plot comes off as a little unimaginative to me. My biggest problem with the game was its limitations, I guess. You can only interact with a few objects, and the whole thing is over before you know it. I think it's a good start, but hope that in the next installment they take it up a notch.

To reiterate: killing zombies > running.

The control scheme was great for this game, but I get what you mean. Runner vision most definitely helps with that(try the game on hard, it gets rough trying to find your path with no red highlights to show you where to go!) The gunplay also needs A LOT of refining(this coming from a company that just released Battlefield : Bad Company after all...)

ME's story was disjointed. I have a feeling their original concept was probably better, dealing more with the bags and moving information around and such.

has anyone read anything anywhere about the add-on for Left 4 Dead and its release? All I know is that it 'may' include a Dawn of the Dead-type shopping mall map which would totally make me happy! Of course the mall map thing is just a rumour but I read that a fan has been working on that and Valve may add it to the add-on. I really hope it's not just the 2 missing versus mode maps. That would suck because L4D could really use some 'new' additional content.

I have a feeling Valve wont shaft us when it comes to DLC for Left 4 Dead. The game does need more scenarios. It's just too short at the moment.

yes, only 4 scenarios and I played them 275967489 times...hehe...well, maybe not that often! But often enough and I'd like some new ones!

Oblivion was insane! I haven't played it in a while, because I've beaten most of the main quests (of course there's still a complete assload of stuff to do). I haven't been playing much lately, but i used to be a die hard gamer. Now i usually stick to Guitar Hero and whatnot. I picked up Metal Gear Solid 3 recently and i've been playing that too.

Bought and beat the Operation Anchorage expansion for Fallout 3. Good stuff, reeeeally digging the new items you get! You get a suit that acts like a permanent Stealth Boy when you go into sneak mode!

There's already an expansion? what system do you have it for?

360 and PC are the only ones getting expansions. Bethesda either really doesnt like Sony or Microsoft is paying them off(I'm going with the second) because PS3 has no planned expansions.

I heard the expansion mission doesn't really have a lot of RPG elements, if any. Hmmm, not sure if I like that too much. Especially when it costs 800 points!

So I loaned Bioshock from a friend of mine. A big disappointment. It's just sad that a game with this much potential is ruined by so very little.

First thing that bothers me is that you can not not beat this game. It's simply impossible with all the vita chambers reviving you with every single item you had when you died and all the damage you've done to the enemies not getting healed. It's so unfair to the gamer. Like a cheat that you can't turn off.

Second thing: security cameras and those flying bots are so annoying. Most of the time I have no idea where the cameras are and if the alarm goes off I'm screwed. Since the flying bots keep getting back no matter how many of them you kill, there is really no point killing them thanks to the vita chamber. Try to fight back and you're bound to lose all your ammo and eve. Nice one bioshock.

Thirdly: Hacking. For the love of Christ why?

On the other hand the atmosphere is nicely done and it has a great oldie feel to it. Fps is good and the variety in which you can kill an enemy gets an honorable mention. Oh and the praised philosophic story does not live up to it's hype but is nevertheless better than stories in 99% of other games out there.

BUT. None of that matters because of the goddamn vita chamber.

I love Bioshock.
But then again, I love Super Metroid...still.

It really doesnt..it has some choice based objectives(kind of...) but the gameplay is more along the lines of just an FPS with a few decent moments for some stealth. The rewards are worth it though! The Gauss Rifle is an energy weapon sniper rifle that is a 1 hit kill on most enemies. The sword you get is awesome. The Chinese Stealth suit is almost worth it alone, unlimited invisibility? Yes, please. And the T-51b Winterized power armor isnt as good as the normal T-51b, but it hardly degrades and can be repaired(it only has a 5% armor difference and you can use regular power armor to fix it!)

Overall the expansion is worth it, 4 new achievements and awesome new items.

can you use those outside of the simulation? If so, then I'd have to replay the game again I guess since I finished it and don't have any side quests to do anymore. So I guess one can really just enjoy those new items when you are not done with everything already. And I'm not sure if I want to replay the game already again since I have lots of games that I want to finish, heh.

Yea. You open an armory that has some nice items in it you get for free. Including the ones I posted previously.
