Woodpeckers are pretty cool too though. And badgers!
Ooh and slow worms. Crazy little things, but they are awesome.

I'm yet to come across a grass snake or an adder yet though...

Really, move to Florida...we have plenty of snakes...too many...

I think its cool that we (actually have!) snakes... but its gay that i've never seen one.

I guess i'd have to research more, and actually know where to go and what time etc. - cus i'd love to see one/some

Just researched. I really wanna go find some now :D

Im really quite interested in snakes.
I didn't realise grass snakes were THAT harmless. And i didn't know it was legal to capture them and keep them in captivity... though that'd be a bit mean, especially if they were already a custom to freedom.

Nope not really...Had to pull a copper head snake out of a persons air conditioner about a week ago, it was dead for about a day or so...so it smelled horrible. Interesting situation though.

Yeech. At least it was dead though. Having a copper head bite you would of been a lot worse. (As far as I remember they are venomous anyway...)

Ithink British grass snakes are all non venomous in England, Aden. (or I thought so atleast) However adders are poisionous. They don't do much damage, its not strong, but you really wont feel too great for a couple of days.

Bes bet to find them would probably be in tall, grassy areas with a few trees in. We have a perfect breeding ground for them where I live, but they tend to keep very much out of the way. A few people have reported seeing them here though. :D I had one hiss at me. That was pretty scary. When its hissing at you to piss off but you can't see it, its not a good place to be. :P

Yeah, grass snakes are non venomous, in fact they don't even have teeth (that they can bite with). They have teeth near the back of the throat that injects the prey before they swallow it with something poisonous. They're not even known to be very aggressive, at the most they'll fake a bite, by lunging at you but not even opening their mouth.

The venom of an adder does do some nasty stuff... but theres been only 14 recorded deaths due to bites since 1876, and none since 1975.

Snakes are awesome. I love the green tree python, they look awesome when they rest on branches:

Theres a snake that has colour changing abilites like a chameleon too

Nasty. That must've been pretty awful, huh? At least it was dead I guess, couldn't bite you :? Anyone hear about that python that got under someone's car hood, and asploded when the owner drove the car? It was a news item some time ago. Or maybe I just saw that on Ripley's Believe it or Not.

Yalls have heard of Camel Spiders, yeah? I don't know if many Americans (or non-Americans) realized these things existed until troops went into the middle east, and that picture of some soldiers holding two up surfaced on the nets.

Camel Spiders creep me out. I'm not exactly afraid of spiders, I just dont like the venomous ones...
