In the loop.
Biting, British satire.
I watched it on a plane and had to stifle my laughs a lot.
Highly recommended!

Year One.

Pretty good, although I'm still upset that Michael Cera is still playing George Michael in every thing that he's in.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Hmmm...this movie was like a 2 and a half hour long military commercial with some robots in it. Dunno, sort of misses the point of a Transformers movie. No major spoilers here but I was sort of hoping for more robot action. It was just too long and too many less important scenes were too long. Oh well, Michal Bay, I guess! It was a good movie but I did not enjoy it as much as the first one. (I grew up with the Transformers series and toys so yes, I like the franchise). So I'd give it a 7.5 - 8/10...not entirely sure yet. Probably tending towards the 7.5. and in that 7.5 there's a whole lot of nostalgia bonus!

next movie that I'll watch in theater:
Brüno

Saw Revenge of the Fallen as well. It was.. Hmm. As with above, I was a HUGE fan of the original G1 series and therefore nostalgia will also factor into my enjoyment of this movie. I liked the first one but felt it lacked the necessary Autobot/Decepticon ass-kicking a movie representation for this franchise had to have. This one had more fighting, so I liked it more than the first as a result of that, cos that is essentially why I want to see these movies... Want to feel like I'm four years old again and how awesome giant robots kicking the mechanical equivalent of shit out of each other is.

Didn't really mind about the length. Seen a lot of people giving out but it didn't really bother me. Yes there were definitely some scenes that were way too long and boring and full of awful cheesy and unfunny humour but that was bound to happen, unfortunately. I was expecting as much after the first movie was full of it.

Definitely a better selection of characters in this one It helped that they picked some of the more notable guys from the originals. Devastator was fucking brilliant and was definitely my favourite. I have huge problems with what they did to Soundwave. They took one of the coolest, if not the coolest, character from the old series and turned him into a useless pile of shit, basically. I was really pissed at that. I probably could have overlooked it but dammit I'm a fanb0y4lief and Soundwave's my favourite and I dislike them dicking over the characters because they're too lazy to deal with the size of transformation or working their original design into the plot.

One thing I have to question about the whole series is why the human characters have such an impact. As you sit through the film you're just constantly wondering why the hell you're watching Shia LaBoooof and Megan Fox having a relationship crisis instead of a bunch of robots battering each other. They could have easily made the franchise actually focused on the Transformers and kept all the stupid relationship shite off the table because really nobody is going to this movie to see a cheesy romantic load of bollocks.

Christ there's a rant. Anyway. This movie should be rated in terms of Transformer character bits (for which I'll give a fanboy 9/10) and human character bits (-3849859292.5). I'll probably buy it so I can watch the good bits on my iPod when I'm bored but wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wasn't a big fan of Transformers over the past however many years. I think if you aren't there holding the hand of and sharing the popcorn with nostalgia you are probably going to dislike almost the entire thing.

Looking forward to checking it out tomorrow night. I really enjoyed the first film and I grew up playing with my Transformer toys (Soundwave was so badass), so I hope the glow of nostalgia gets me through the Bayness.

Well, Leech, as has become common place in all Hollywood "blockbusters" there must be some kind of romance/love/life affair in it to appeal to females. Regardless of that fact, I know a few females who would rather just see action than kissy-kissy scenes in an ACTION movie.

Saw Fight Club for the first time last night. I know everyone seems to rave on about how great it is, but I actually don't really know what to make of it. To me it seemed weird just for the sake of it, and it didn't do the 'twist' ending as well as other movies have (ie Sixth Sense, Angel Heart etc), in that the twist came probably 40 minutes before the end, which I reckon kinda spoils it. Maybe I need to see it again to really appreciate it....

Saw Transformers.

Dogs humping by an exploding bird feeder. It actually happened in that movie. Why? I still don't know.

I can't stand Michael Bay films because there is too much explosion/fire/pointless romance and not enough everything else.

I'll be checking Transformers 2 out soon as well. If that movie fails to entertain, I'll put on the originals and rage about how it got raped.

And yes, Soundwave was fantastic. +1 for that rant Leechy.

Funny part? It's not very accurate, as far as military stuff is concerned.
