QTEs are the shit. Shenmue. That's all I have to say.

But yes, not a large call for turn-based these days.

I'd criticize it for being too short, though. You could speed through it in 2 hours.

Yeah, but then there was an achievement for doing the game in under 12 hours. :? That didn't fill me with much hope to be honest.
And I loved the parkour aspect of the game, but the story of the Ps2 games I really enjoyed. (Minus the second game though, twas a bit pants, and I hated running away from that big damn shadow thing. But the music was pretty sweet.)

So yeah I was kinda hoping for another awesome story, but in the 360 one, it seemed just a little on the generic. :\ Oh well.

His reviews are excellent, albeit slightly short sighted when aimed at the multiplayer aspect of said game, hahaha.

but he does raise good points when he describes quick time events, I hate them now, they are overused . they were used once in god of war and of course Shenmue (great game btw) suddenly everyone Ejaculates at the idea of using Quick time events for almost ANYTHING!...idiots

Yeah, Warrior Within went for darker and edgier. Scantly clad women, a few curse words ("YOU BITCH!"), and a generic (but sweet) metal soundtrack comopsed by the dude from The Tea PArty with two songs by Godsmack. But it was still a pretty sweet game. Not as good as Sands Of Time or Two Thrones, but still sweet.

Come on, though. You can't expect them to carry on the Sands Of Time franchise forever. All credit to Ubisoft for ending it on a good note and not dragging it out until it stopped making money like most game companies would do.

I agree that the story was lacking though, although I liked the ending. But again, if it can out-do Assassin's Creed in the parkour area, it's REALLY fucking good.

Kingdom Hearts 2 used them pretty efficiently as well.

the only game im waiting from ubisoft is Spinter Cell Conviction, Hot Damn that looks amazing!

The new POP wasnt all that, i mean i liked the Art style they had with it, but it seemed to have been aimed at a more younger audience :/

Sands of time remains the best one.

Ass creed was good, story was a bit shit, the gameplay was fantastic, but the missions were Extremely repetitive, Ugh didnt even get to complete the first one, heres hoping the second ones better

Open up firefox (presuming you use Firefox). Go up to the tools tab. Go down to "clear private data".

I find that the video game industry is in a bit of a slump right now. Nothing eclectic or really driving has been put out in a while. I bless the beautiful Mother 3 fan translation team for getting an incredibly professional translation patch of said game, for it was a very nice followup to Earthbound (albeit not as good).

I'm more of an SNES/GBA kind of player, and I'm in it for anything which will be considered original.

Favourite games:

-Earthbound
-Advance Wars
-Disgaea
-No More Heroes

Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed.

Not original enough for you? Then the video game industry doesnt want you as a customer. It's getting a little hard to keep up with people like you and their extremely high expectations of releasing games that are SO original. Because moving sideways on the screen while hitting one button to attack and one button to jump is a formula that has yet to be deemed "boring" or "unoriginal" or "overused"

My extremely high expectations come with a decent story (succeeded via Earthbound, Disgaea and No More Heroes), original gameplay (succeeded by Advance Wars and No More Heroes), a CHALLENGE (Advance Wars and Disgaea), and anything in between.

I don't think that's much to ask for. Please do not get upset with my opinions. I just think that those games show what a video game should be (albeit No More Heroes could have been a lot better in the department of the overworld).

Mind you, you are very misinformed about my gaming taste. 1 was a RPG, 1 was a strategy, 1 was an sRPG, and 1 was a hack-and-slash. Do not make assumptions.

Either way, people like you have been a plague for a while.(dont take that personally, I mean just people in general who are "old school only" gamers) Ultra-high expectation gamers such as yourself who claim to be "SNES purists" really have no place to complain. You're still hooked on a system that's hay-day was in the early 90's. Times change, games change, and now most developers are trying to cater to the "casual" gamer by cutting the challenge in most games. Do I hate that? Yes, I do. The last game to really give me a challenge was Ninja Gaiden 2.

Basically you HAVE to lower your expectations if you expect to have any fun with current games. If you look at the original IP's coming out this year and the ones that came out last year, there was quite a bit of originality to be had.

My hierarchy was always VGCats and then Penny Arcade, but I like Yahtzee best these days. I do still love the Cats though.
