I balled at the end of this movie. Couldn't help it. It was so unexpected....

Really? I thought it was pretty straightforward--could see it coming. But that was a great movie and a good note for Clint Eastwood to go out on.

Ah well, just shows that one man's idea of a great performance is another's half-arsed effort I guess. :D

Anyway, I saw District 9 tonight and I LOVED EVERY DAMNED MINUTE. Michael Bay can stick this movie up his shiny arse... THIS is how you make an action sci-fi film. I won't give anything like a spoiler away. Suffice it to say that as someone who really enjoys sci-fi films, I'd say this will be looked back on as one of the true classics of the genre. Of course this might mean that someone else here will hate it, but I know that in 10 years from now I'll be sitting back watching this on blu-ray or whatever new technology they come up with to rip us all off.

Bring on a sequel!

The Punisher: War Zone Well, it's sad how they managed to fuck this up... Ray Stevenson IS Frank Castle, should have been in first movie too (Thomas Jane is just too soft for this role) and just loved him in Rome in part of Titus pullo. Not greatest actor in world but can pull brutal roles no problem. But as the movie goes, this could have been great action fest with real director and tweaked script. Now it just looks like half ass shoe lace budget piece of shit... Brutal and gory in places and some, although rare cartoony moments. Bad guy is bad in sence that he's just shit, and Frank's sidekicks are weak. I just hope that if there's going to be third movie in series, they put some thought in to it too. I'm pissed :furious:

Nah, it's only gory in some very short parts.

But yes, it is damn awesome.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

I never knew what G.I. Joe was all about, didn't see the cartoons, any of that. But it seemed like a cool thing, and I think it's cool to have a movie now. I have no idea if this movie followed storyline or presented the characters how they're supposed to be, but it doesn't matter to me.

There's plenty of action, nearly nonstop in fact, and lots of bullets and explosions. The Rise of Cobra will definitely have your attention in that aspect, but the dialogue is fairly cheesy (and it's probably supposed to be that way, but again, I don't know) and Channing Tatum doesn't seem to be that cool. I'm not about to go out of my way to see his movies, I can say that much about him. All the fighting and battle scenes are well-done, and I especially liked the chasing in Paris including the destruction of the Eiffel Tower. The CGI is a bit lackluster though, most notably in the underwater battles which are reminiscent of the Star Wars Phantom Menace underwater stuff.
