I got a couple chapters of Tales of Monkey Island for Wii. It's a good play and more true to the spirit of the older games than expected. However, it is mighty irksome that the thing has frame rate issues. Sure, it's a PC game ported over and the Wii is probably 3x weaker than a Walmart-purchased $200.00 computer but still... I likes when my softwares does run.

Other than that, I am enjoying the hell out of Scribblenauts for my DS. It's a puzzle game. Cool part being that you solve the presented conundrums by typing in words and spawning 22,800 odd different objects. So maybe your mate solves a puzzle by dropping a toaster into the shark pool while you spawn Cthulu and have him eviscerate all.

Oh and Sarai-chan that FF dude as goth comment... it made me a happy, smiling, boy. <3

The Brutal Legend demo has assuaged all of my fears.

Gameplay is fun, over the top and great. The heavy metal parody aspect is entirely in celebration of the genre. Jack Black is actually downplayed quite a bit, (his voice acting is actually phenomenal if we have this and Kung Fu Panda to base it off of) and Tim Schafer's writing shines through.

Seriously, if you have a 360, try the demo. If you have a PS3 I think the demo comes out next week.

How dare you ever doubt the creator of Psychonauts? We're talking about Tim Schafer, not John Romero.

I sure as hell didn't doubt it was going to be great, it's my rational fear of Jack Black that kept my interest from going into the wow this is amazing territory.

It is rational to an extent, but remember that outside of Tenacious D, Jack Black's ability to act/be funny/likable is ENTIRELY dependent on writers and co-stars.

I guess it's the same IN Tenacious D as well, even.

Plus they have Deadly Sinners in the soundtrack. DEADLY SINNAHS!

The idea of Jack Black voicing put me off a little too.

Hes funny and all, but theres only so much I can take, and a video game seems like it might push it.

But besides that, it sounds interesting.
