Just got some Ernie Ball flatwounds, they sound great, suuupper mellow and chill.
Which reminds me, I had a jam session the other day with 2 other bassists, kinda weird... but we arranged it so that I was the loooww bottom end, another dude played in the middle-range, and the other cranked the treble and pulled out his slapping chops. Sounded pretty cool!

Didn't think this was significant enough for its own topic in the SYL section, but for all the Vancouver residents: Listen for the sound those fancy electric buses of yours make when the name of the next stop shows up on the little marquee on the ceiling. I swear it's identical to looping metallic "ding" that opens City. At the very least, it is the same pitch and sounds pretty damn similar otherwise. Thought it was pretty cool when I heard it. I have video proof, but the sound isn't good enough to really compare them and I didn't have a portable recorder on me.

that was an awesome match. weve had some amazing grand finals as of recent years. last year was great and the Sydney vs West Coast grand finals were amazing too. im tipping the Saints to win it next year though
