Sometimes I carry a multifunction pocket knife, but not everyday. Its handy mainly for the bottle opener. I used to have a bottle opener key ring but it wore out.

You'd be surprised the amount of random last-minute events I get called to work, so I keep a small arsenal in my bag: Leatherman+belt pouch, Avolites Torch+belt pouch, my chalk bag (easier than a pocket when up a ladder or in a scissorlift) and a few rolls of electrical tape. Oh and a sharpie. And a couple of load rated carabiners and my Petzl pulley+strop.
So I guess my EDC would be

Avo torch
Chalk bag
'leccy tape
Sharpie on a lanyard
22kN locking carabiner
22kN Petzl Fixe pulley
22kN Strop.
Go go random gig working!
