Apparently the Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2 comes with actual functioning night vision goggles.

...

I'm sure that's a great idea.

There's nice weekend deal on steam - set of Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell and Overlord 2 for whopping $8.75 (8.75 euros for us yuropians). Also pretty massive pack of indie games on Direct2drive - games previously worth $95 being sold for $25. Good weekend I think.

Since I was blatantly ignored before, I think I should raise the name of Mother 3 here.

Has anyone played the translation patch here besides me?

Quick question for PS3 owners... I've scored a free PS3 with my new TV and should receive it before Christmas. So my spending cash will probably go towards a game or two for it. Any absolute must-have games?

Dragon Age is fun...really enjoyed it so far and played for about 6 hours now. It may be better on PC but I can't understand all the criticism regarding the technical aspects of the game. Haven't had any probs on my 360 yet and although the graphics are not the best ever, Fable 2's graphics weren't necessarily better either, worse actually, and it's still a fun game.

as for your PS3 question. I'd definitely get Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 if I had to pick. Both are very awesome games. In my opinion anyways...

kind of the same here. I'm not much of a death match fan so that part of the game isn't really interesting to me and the single player campaign doesn't have a lot of replay value when you beat it on veteran (on lower difficulty levels it's just too short). This evening I may check out the spec ops mode with a friend. Played it alone and it was kind of cool but it should be much more fun (and much more doable on veteran) with a friend.

I'm hooked on the online at the moment. Switching between the campaign and online really. I just want to hit level 70 in the online so I can have everything. Dont know if I'll Prestige in this one though.

Totally Uncharted 2 is a no-brainer, must buy for ps3 owners. If you like superhero stuff then inFamous is a great buy too. Metal Gear Solid 4 is VERY over rated imho but never the less has scored some great reviews.
So there you go have fun ;)

I'm currently having fun playing batman arkham asylum i'm liking it more than i thought i would :).

If you've played and like the previous MGS games, MGS4 is pretty damn amazing. If you haven't played them, dont bother with it.

hehe, yeah I saw that you play TDM a lot. I probably suck donkey balls when it comes to TDM because I've never really been a fan of those modes and don't have much experience with them. Might check it out sooner or later though.

oh and the new Mass Effect 2 vids on gametrailers.com look friggin awesome. The actual gameplay footage makes me want to play that game even more. And it seems like they improved the technical side of Mass Effect a lot too. The frame rate looks pretty stable!

actually I'd get it anyways...totally forgot about MGS4. It's very awesome too. It may make more sense when you played previous MGS games but I have friends who never did and they still LOVED MGS4. So yeah, that is one is a good pick too and it's a cheapie now...so are Killzone 2 and InFamous.

Yea, mostly Hardcore TDM because people die when you shoot them :P haha

I do like Capture the Flag though, the only problem I have with it is getting thrown into games with a bunch of people who ONLY play CTF and getting my ass handed to me. Same goes for Domination. I seem to do my best at TDM =D haha. I tried the 3rd person game mode out yesterday, it's a cool change and gives you some advantages, but also has its own disadvantages like not being able to aim as accurately. Definitely a cool change, but like CTF and Domination, you always get thrown in with people who only play that made and beat you a majority of the time.

I've played and owned mgs1, mgs2, mgs3: subsistence and mgs4. The story in mgs1 was awesome but after that it seems its just been taking a more and more of a obscure path and thats mainly why I disliked mgs4, because of its corny story. I think they should stop milking the franchise and invent something new for a change, or just make a new zone of the enders :P

But... might just be me though, i'm becoming more and more allergic to japanese games although i used to love em! I think the western gaming industry is so much better these days. Just look at all the cod's and whatnot!

hehe, yeah...I remember playing DM against friends of mine and they play multiplayer games a lot, unlike me. I think it was COD4. They all had super fancy weapons, etc. and I played it for the first time and all I did was die
But there's also cases where it just was not fun because there were cheaters in the game, like in Wolfenstein for example. I remember one TDM where one guy had 80 kills in the end and everyone else had like 10-20 kills. I remember unloading my machine gun right into his head from the back big time and it did not hurt him at all. Stuff like that just sucks.

Oh yea. I have a friend like that, kind of. He always gets absurd amounts of kills, but doesn't cheat. He's always great to have on our team ;) haha
