well, that's good and I'm sure there's lots of pro gamers like that...but the guy I was mentioning simply was invincible. He would have died otherwise because I did pump enough lead into him.

The story in mgs1 was awesome but after that it seems its just been taking a more and more of a obscure path and thats mainly why I disliked mgs4, because of its corny story. I think they should stop milking the franchise and invent something new for a change, or just make a new zone of the enders :P

The first MGS probably is my overall favorite, as well. The PSone graphics gave it that dark, grungy atmosphere that paired well with the storyline. But each game has its own feel/vibe, and its own innovations (for their times). I'm intrigued why you found the storyline to MGS4 to be "corny"...sure, it didn't hit as hard as some of the other games, mainly because it recalled and referenced a LOT of info from the older games. But when I was playing the game, "corny" never came into my mind.

And yes, a new Zone of the Enders needs to be made for the current generation of consoles. ZOE: The 2nd Runner is one of my favorite games of all time.
Here's a link to a short article on Hideo Kojima's outlook on the ZOE franchise: http://kotaku.com/5385491/one-day-hideo-kojima-will-make-zoe3-promise

MGS1 was soooooooo awesome back then on the PS1. I beat it so many times...just for the encounter with Sniper Wolf alone. Not many games reach that level of awesomeness, not even today. Some do, but not many. It was also fun to replay it all on the Gamecube.

I really only liked MGS1. It was so fresh and at 13, mindblowing.

I dunno, just didn't care for the others, but I did buy the twin snakes and enjoy that too. Somethin' was kinda lost in making it look nicer though.

My friend with a Gamecube got Twins Snakes a few years ago. True, it was a good remake. But compared to the PSone version, something definitely felt like it was lost in the transition. It may have had first person view, but the Gamecube controller's lack of analog buttons made gameplay feel clunky. Plus, seeing Snake do a kick-flip off of an airborne missile killed it for me. I personally don't think he was meant to be that kind of hero...

Yeah. It's good, but not great. Multiplayer has bored me now.

I can't stand the people who play it. They are way to competitive. You kill them once and they crack the sads and have a grudge against you for the rest of the match. I might swap it for Dragon Age or Borderlands.

My roommate has been playing a fair amount of it, and there are some cool sequences, but it's not that cool in my opinion.

If the game just had a stronger narrative I think it'd be much better. I know that's not how Call of Duty games go, but it doesn't matter.

The multiplayer has some cool little tweaks to it, but it really just seems disappointing to me. People were talking to me like this game was the second coming of christ, I fail to be impressed. The game that I think is actually impressive this year, as far as games I'll never play because I don't really care for shooters, is Uncharted 2.

I just like in multiplayer games when a team wins, and still talks shit at the end of the game. Congratulations captain douchebag, you beat us. Hope your e-peen gets plenty hard over beating some random people in a game.

I haven't had much interest in MW2. Dragon Age however is pretty darn awesome. :D I have the best thief in the world. xD

Actually no, my dog is the best, its the only character that hasn't died?! xD

In Dragon Age is it just you out roaming and doing quests and shit like, say Fallout 3, or do you also have to control multiple characters actions at various points? It looks like a hugely impressive game but if the latter of those two is the way it is it'd put me off it a bit.

As for Modern Warfare 2, my loathing of FPS is keeping me on the path to avoiding it. I was considering getting it to see if it could be the one to finally make me like that type of game but I don't think I'll waste my money on it cos it'll probably drive me mad.

In other video game related news in mah life I've decided that I'm sick of what I'm looking at while playing and have gone mental and re-organised my bedroom to accommodate for a wall-mounted 32" LCD TV and the finest most comfiest most enormous beanbag money can buy. I'll be able to hook up le PS3, PS2 and Sega MegaDrive to one TV for the first time ever. Win. :D

in Dragon Age you 'can' control the other characters but you don't 'have to'...at least that's my understanding after playing it for 8 - 9 hours. But the fact that you can control all characters can make things easier. Lets say your own character does not have any thief abilities then you can switch to a character who does have such abilities and that way you can steal some sweet stuff. Also in battles you can just let the AI do what it does but you can also switch to other characters and make them do certain things. The controls seem a bit complicated on the console versions but once you get used to them, things work pretty fine. I think you'd dig it.

I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 a lot still...the special ops mode for the most part. I got 47 stars so far and need 22 more to have all 60 stars. Been playing those with 2 friends and we've been doing pretty well. But dang, some of those special ops missions are friggin' hard on veteran! But it's fun...much more so than the single player campaign.

Assassin's Creed 2 > Modern Warfare 2

Granted MW2 probably has better replay value, but Assassin's Creed 2 is exactly what you would be hoping for in a sequel to AC1. No more repetition, characters that have a personality, massive, beautiful open world and a coherent story.

well, most good games that were released this year > Modern Warfare 2. :D It's a good game but totally overhyped. The 'Echo' special ops missions are insane, btw.
I'm definitely looking forward to AC2. Everything that I've seen about it looked awesome. Can't wait to play it this week.

I keep getting interested in Dragon Age, as my roomie has it.

I mean, I want a big Rock Monster all of my own too.

Dragon Age is basically NWN2 with way more combat, fantastic voice acting and dialogue, and less D&D. Although I fucked up my mage. Meh. It's probably one of the biggest games, if not the biggest, I've played. Almost 30 hours spent and I'm at 28% completion. And I've done 2½ main quests in a row now, skipping alot of side quests. There's no reason I'd not recommend it to anyone.
