Like everything else Dev does, the tour clips are always interesting. Though that second clip raises an important question...

"Why in dog's name aren't you playing 'Universe' on this tour, Dev?"

Me thinks the kids would likey!

I'd guess it's simply because of the tuning. He'd have to drag around a third guitar.

It seems Dev's in his "fuck subtlety" mood post-Addicted. The whole point of Ki, it seems to me, is restraint, and the exploration of tension and relaxation without completely exploding. The live performances of Disruptr so far are just full-on. I wonder if Dev's just thought "fuck it, lets give the metalheads a show, they've got the real one on record" or if he just thinks it sounds better that way. Myself I think it negates the point of the song.

That song being performed in a full "metal" context really ruins it for me. Just my personal opinion tho. The songs on Ki in my opinion do not work well when played with others because they really represent an entirely different atmosphere(for me at least). I still stand by what I've said in the past that the four album series should be played the the context of albums. I'm sure many people wouldn't enjoy the entire Ki album played for the entire set but for me that album is really his best piece of work in his entire career.

BAM!

Wait, I thought you already had three? The 7-string in open C, and the black one with the silver pickguard in open B, but wouldn't you need a third for whatever tuning Kingdom is in? I was under the impression that all of Physicist was in AAAEAE.

YOu raise a good point. I suppose if Kindgom never uses anything beneath the third fret (Which would be the B on the a Strings), it would be doable in open B tuning. Unless he uses the 7-string for it, in which case, you have that low A on the lowest G string! Huzzah!
