A man was attacked by a wombat when he stepped out of his caravan north-east of Melbourne this morning, paramedics say.

The 60-year-old was taken to hospital with puncture wounds to his legs and arms following the attack at Flowerdale.

A Rural Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the man had stepped outside his caravan just before 7am when he was confronted by the marsupial.

The man told paramedics another person had complained about a rogue wombat in the area two days ago.

Paramedics cleaned the man's wounds and took him to the Northern Hospital in Epping in a stable condition.

Walking home most days, all I keep seeing around everywhere is like memories from when I was 6 and up... I hate it. I need to get away somewhere...

I actually went through the same thing like everyday when I was about 18 in my hometown.

Sometimes it's just good to pick up and move and cut a new path for yourself.

Yeah, I've been getting it more and more the past few months... It's driving me nuts. I hope to go somewhere soon, perhaps I'll actually find some sense of calling on what to do as well.

How did you pick up and move?

I went to a university that was 2 hours north. Just far enough, because I'm a pretty family oriented guy (it comes with the Jew territory), so that I could come home and visit frequently, but far enough that I was able to live my own life. I really came into my own up here, to be honest.

But I always had a plan for university. Now that it's coming to an end, I'm actually pretty lost on what I'm going to do myself. Any TV jobs for an entry-level American out there? :P

Aaah I see. I don't know how to do the kinda "up and leaving" part. It feels like I've finally manage to carve a bit of niche in the 14 years I've lived where I do, but I think I'm just sick of the place. Sometimes I think just packig some basic clothes and training it off somewhere would be an awesome idea. xD

And there probably is! You could look into thigs like Channel 4, BBC, and no doubt a few others. You must have things like that over there though, I'd presume? :D

I do but Los Angeles is the stink pit of all of America.

The UK would be pretty cool though :P
