Only just caught this.

Fuck. And to think I engaged in semi-intellectual exchanges with you.

"Old now"

Come back and have a discussion with me when you're a man (I'll probably be in a zimmer frame by then with an ear trumpet so speak loduly, although if you're a man by then your voice should carry.)

Listening to lots of Ulver, especially Shadows of the Sun, to prepare for the concert on saturday. I can't fucking wait, Shadows of the Sun is one of the best albums I've ever heard, I listen through it like three times a day. So pretty.

No, there is a great reason. I missed that lil' exchange between Leechy and Billy. Good stuff. :D

I thought the same thing, hah! :D

As for what I'm doing right now...dosing myself up on vitamins and other crap. Cold season has arrived and claimed me amongst its first victims. :( *sniffle*

Right now and past few days I've been settling in with my all time fav Monty Python sketches and movies. Ah the Parrot Sketch, such a classic. From now on I put extra emphasis on things that are dead or have "expired" .

Not much of a tv fanatic as I used to be, but I've started moving to the only comedy sitcom that gives me plenty of laughs for now: The Big Bang Theory.

For a serious response, just streamed latest Family Guy episode. Funny as hell, and it makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with Australian TV that it had the new episodes (four years later) and ditched them mid-season for How I Met Your Mother and American Dad repeats - show new episodes if you're going to pull that crap, there's plenty, believe me!
At least they ditched Cougar Town. Awful, awful show. Then again, I admit to trying to watch one episode (I wanted to see Courtney Cox flash someone), and was only too pleased to switch stations after 5 minutes.

Pondering the fate of an underground musician, on example of these guys

I've read about them in one of the biggest Polish music magazines, around '95 I think. They were underground as fuck back then, playing gigs basically only in Warsaw and avoiding release of any official material. ffwd to today, they're undergroud as fuck, play gigs in Warsaw's clubs and have released 0 albums total. I was at their show once, they were supporting one of local alternative legends and IMO were much more enjoyable than headliner (during technical break bassist/singer chilled out by lying on the floor amongst audience, besides, he's a great perfomer and band's set was mesmerizing). Nice band with long history, 33 listeners on last.fm and most of songs on myspace played less than 100 times. It's incredible how perfectly good band can dodge popularity so well.

Bonus question for the musically aware: what's the meter in the song above? I counted on fingers and decided it's something like 5/4 (everything loops after 5 hihats, these are quarter notes I guess). I'm not sure though - trying to learn how this shit works.

I'm a bit rusty with theory, but I'd say 5/4 cut time - like the theme to Mission: Impossible, but at a quicker tempo.

Not right now, but last night I went on a 6.6 mile walk out of boredom and of being sick of being inside. (Rainy-ish weather... main flatmate I spend time with not being much of an "active" person). Loved it. Had no idea where I was, was quite thrilling not knowing whether I'd be out for another 30 mins or 3 hours. Very hilly (or whatever the word is) around here too, so my legs got a good workout :)

Today I'm watching the world cup... just like many more days to come I spose.
