The Expendables - probably the biggest guilty pleasure movie of the year. Come for the explosions, stay for the in-jokes, and a pretty moving scene with Mickey Rourke. Good stuff.
Thought The Shining would be alright, but it turned out to be much scarier than I thought.
"A moment of rest upon the wind, and another woman shall bear me."
Adventureland. Rather deeper little movie than I initially thought it was going to be. Enjoyed.
I have a map to the Kingdom but was forced to surrender the keys.

Funny thing I consider its straight to DVD (or VHS?) remake scarier. Jack Nicholson ruins any effect of transformation from regular guy to evil guy with looking evil as fuck from the very beginning - these eyebrows, you know.
I saw Terminator: Salvation. It was rather entertaining - civilization of machines must be ruled by some malfunctioning specimen of Atari 2600, though - completely un-machinelike lack of effectiveness on their part. Damn being older really ruins watching movies sometimes :<

Plus Bill Hader is amazing if only a bit role.
The Game- Holy fuck.
What do you expect from the director of Fight Club?

Sorry dude, not stalking you - I bought The Game the other day as it's an all time fave of mine. Nice choice.
I saw Scott Pilgrim yesterday. Great fun. Didn't know the comic existed and deliberately avoided trailers and reviews, and it paid off.
I forget her name, but the chick who plays Ramona (and is also in Deathproof) can move into our spare room any time she likes.

I remember that movie. Still hasn't lost it's knack for being a total mind-blow.
The Number 23.
Not worth watching, really. Predictable, awkward jumps from scene to scene, and Jim Carrey not pulling a single stupid face was awkward to watch in itself. I guess I expected something a little more psychologically intense from such a promising storyline.

Cube.

Halloween: 25 Years of Terror. An excellent documentary detailing the series (up til 2003), with some interesting interviews and footage; well worth it.
I watched Avatar: The Last Airbender a few days ago and it wasn't what I expected, as I expected it to be shit.
But actually it sticks close to the anime's storyline, has some gorgeous special effects and generally is pretty epic (Not quite LOTR epic, but epic all the same) the only gripe I have about it is that the actors playing the characters are American. No offence, but they should've been or Oriental Origin for it to be as it should
Can't wait for the next 2- The Book Of Earth/Fire, Earth will be coming first if it continues to be awesome and stick closely to the original story.

Fuck yes.
Now watch the second one and be thinking that all over again.

Really? I remember seeing Cube and thinking it was a big pile of bollocks.
edit- Or is that what you two are saying as well? "Holy fuck." can definitely be interpreted several ways, where I'm obviously going for the "Holy fuck, what a big pile of bollocks." route.

No, I'm going "Holy fuck what the fuck just happened?"
