Piranha 3D

Totally hilarious. So much blood...body parts and severed limbs...like a Cannibal Corpse song come to life. The 3D was pretty intense too, and alot of the scenes seemed geared around featuring the effect. The only downside I found was the typical annoying "Spring Break" dumbfuck yuppie kids. And of course...there is tons of nudity, which of course, I didn't care about because it was all chics. The upside is...they never last long anyway. Highly recommended.

So would it be in a similar vein to Dante's original Piranha as a black humor parody of Jaws and other monster films with bodies for intense moments? Or does it take itself more seriously? I hope the hilarity is intentional, after all.

It absolutely doesn't take itself seriously. The whole film seems like a build up for you to hate certain characters so you can enjoy their demise that much more. And it seemed totally intentional, but then again...alot of us have a darker sense of humor than most. I was laughing mainly because it was so outrageous and over the top.

It absolutely doesn't take itself seriously. The whole film seems like a build up for you to hate certain characters so you can enjoy their demise that much more. And it seemed totally intentional, but then again...alot of us have a darker sense of humor than most. I was laughing mainly because it was so outrageous and over the top.

Excellent, that's what I was hoping for. Might give it a go this weekend. Or Human Centipede.

I saw Scott Pilgrim yesterday. Great fun. Didn't know the comic existed and deliberately avoided trailers and reviews, and it paid off.

I forget her name, but the chick who plays Ramona (and is also in Deathproof) can move into our spare room any time she likes.

Oh maaan is she ever hot.

BTW I loved this movie. Everything Edgar Wright has done has been awesome. I don't think I've ever seen a movie like this before, though. Seems a lot of the critics that didn't like it faulted it's weak storyline or lack of real substance. I think they missed the point.

The movie isn't about the romance itself, it's about scott's journey into adulthood! It and the source material are a hell of a lot deeper than anyone gives it credit for.

Also, the game is fun

Watched the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy film on TV last night. Man, still hiliarious since the first time I watched it. Reminds me to check out the original stuff.

Someone here should also watch vampires suck just to say how much that sucks. Trailers are doing nothing to me at the moment, seems like a bland and tasteless movie parody.

Considering the team behind it, I'd say the trailers are the best thing on offer. I know I won't be a volunteer.

I had friends who wanted to go because they're girls who fancy themselves as independent from the mainstream movement and anything that makes fun of Twilight makes them flock like sheeple.

Twilight is so bad it doesn't need a fuckin parody, let alone from the people that made meet the spartans.

Also, the game is fun

I basically went to see this because Edgar Wright made it. Surprised me with how visually clever it was and if I didn't know he made it beforehand I wouldn't have picked it as an Edgar Wright movie. Very funny too. I can see how the comic would be good, particularly if you're in that stage of your life. Also, the "other Culkin" was great as the gay room mate.

And did we mention that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is indeed hot, particularly in this movie? If not, she's hot.

Kick-Ass again.
Love it. Violent, funny and Tarantino influenced.
