oh my, let's hope not!!! But at least there has been actual footage of Portal 2 shown so I'm (kind of) optimistic.
I sort of doubt now that there will be an Episode 3. Probably makes more sense for them to just develop HL3. But either would be fine. I just want more Gordon Freeman awesomeness!

I can confirm that Deadly Premonition is so incredibly bad that it's so incredibly good at the same time. The graphics are atrocious...even the Wii, if it could, would be ashamed of such graphics. The controls are terrible...really, really bad. The sound effects...squirrels that sound like monkeys, the sounds of the steps you take sound like they were taken from Resident Evil on the PS1. Yet the game is so weird and the characters, especially the main character York, are so crazy, funny and weird too that I can't help but dig this game. I can see why people often call this game 'Twin Peaks - the game'. I've never played anything like this. And I have only played it for about 2 and a half hours so far.

Maybe I'd like this game. In reviews it's excellent for some or others thinks it's crappiest thing ever seen. :D That game looks very interesting and that gay-ish running animation is so funny. I liked a lot of Resident Evil games on PS1 and also Indigo Propechy or Fahrenheit on PC was awesome.

I guess it's a love it or hate it thing. I don't think there's anything in between when it comes to this game. There's sooooo much wrong with this game. Lots of bad design choices. Like...today I realized how terrible the map is...yes, something as simple as a map...there's no fixed map. meaning whenever you take a turn to the left or right the map will turn too which makes your orientation rather difficult! And that is just one more example for a bad design choice. Yet I think I'll really enjoy playing through this game because everything in it is sooooo incredibly weird. You may want to check out some vids of a walkthrough on youtube first before deciding whether you want to get it or not though...

FINALLY got my copy of Metroid: Other M. The voice acting and story is decidedly last gen and I hate the wussification of Samus, but the game is great otherwise. Exactly what I wanted it to be.

cool, sounds good...I'll have to get it at some point too. I just hope I won't encounter that game breaking bug that I read about numerous times.

I've read a lot about that. Seems like the gaming world's marmite. Looks utterly abysmal.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was good fun. The ending was another fucking painful cliffhanger that makes you want the next one even more.. I hope they can manage to get it out within a year.

absolutely. It's like an early PS2 game with last-gen gameplay and PS1 sound effects. But all that really does not matter because the game is really good otherwise. I think everyone who is dissing the game can't look past the technical shortcomings. Too bad it ain't available outside of Asia on the PS3, otherwise I'd totally recommend it to you because I know you can appreciate weird shit too! Alas the asian versions do not have any english subtitles or any english text. Although the spoken language in the game is still english.

Eventually played Portal. Nice little game, just long enough so I don't get bored  (I get easily bored by FPS, which mean I don't play much anymore)
Glad to find a game where you're not killing everybody for once, and where you have to think a bit as well (I felt ashamed sometimes for not being a little more "fast" to think, maybe I'm tired).
The atmosphere too, the robot voice, the quasi-absence of sun light, lack of colors, lack of life in fact, it was starting to feel claustrophobic and longer would've been too long.

I played and finished Prince of Persia: Sands of Time last week. Although I'm a few years late to this party I thought it was amazing, like a perfect blend between action and puzzles with a good storyline to boot. Not to mention a horribly frustrating battle on a rotating elevator towards the end; that one took me ages since the princess was dumb enough to die every chance she got. But a really, really fun game.

Now on to... I dunno, Fallout New Vegas around Christmas I guess?

I like the new Fallout, it improves on Fallout 3 with tons of little bits of awesome. And there colors now too, not just shades of brown.
BUT the game is glitchy, and i've lost hours due to hard freezes. But I am still playing.
Hopefully by the time you get it a patch will fix some of those issues, but I have a feeling this game will always have some very annoying bugs.

Yeah, I know about the bugs in New Vegas. I read that some patchwork has been done, but I don't know how much of the bugs that might've solved.

And if all else fails I can always fall back on Civilization 2. I've been playing that for years and I'm still learning new things with each session.

My two cents on Fallout - I thought the bugs in New Vegas were greatly exaggerated. It froze on me a few times, but the auto-save function prevents any major loss of progress, really. There is occasional popping and some texture fails (feet through floors, frustrating climbs over mountains only to find there's an invisible wall 2 feet from your destination, etc) but they just don't weigh in enough negativity to take away from an otherwise outstanding game. The faction aspect was a great addition, as well as the wide array of endings. The sheer quantity of side quests is staggering and the companions don't disappear on you like they did in 3 either...

^ I fully agree. I've yet to encounter any game altering bugs, only really clipping issues and occasional freezes.
