People having to save up so much money that they can't afford food because every year around this time the electricity bill is about 4-5 times as high as normal because the government doesn't want to spend money on taking care of its citizens.

Having no internet. Currently in an internet cafe. I know, minor, minor gripe, but I suddenly feel really cut off from people without any kind of contact. It's kind of nice, though, finding out about my CRIPPLING FEAR of being alone.

My condolences.

I feel bad whenever I read about the Queensland floods. A freak firestorm 2 years ago was the major summer disaster (in my state), now this. Granted there will probably be less fatalities once it's over.

Yeah, I felt terrible when you guys had the fires, it was all the news had to report on for months. And at first when I heard about the floods I was like, well it's Queensland, it floods all the time. Then houses went underwater and people started going missing and then it sorta clicked that this was a big deal. A close friend of mine lives in a small mountain town about an hour from Brisbane and he told me his friend's dad has gone missing in Toowoomba and they had to file a missing persons report and shit, when you hear stuff like that it feels a lot more real. There's some seriously crazy stuff going down in the affected areas, but probably the worst part is people see children trapped in houses that have come loose from their supports, floating hundreds of metres down the street and all they can do is watch. There's a heap of YouTube videos depicting hundreds of cars just floating down the street, but what's a car when people are dying. Granted, the death toll isn't very high yet and yeah, I doubt it'll come close to the Black Saturday toll. But still, it's really sad stuff.

My cousins two year-old son has been diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. Sadly, it's been found pretty late and he's got slight damage to his coronary arteries but he's responding to treatment.
Fingers crossed he continues to improve and gets back to being as bright and smiley as usual. And pinching his mum's phone and unwittingly ringing me :P

I thought I'd be going to a nice little concert tonight, but when I get to the train station, it turns out all trains in the right direction have been cancelled. So I have to stay home.

I woke up this morning to find my dog had died during the night.

She was only 5 vears old. On Thursday night, she was out running around in the snow while my kids and i built a snowman.
I don't get it. How could she just up and die? She was so healthy...

I remember last year when my second son was born, I was really nervous about her being around him, but....
she became his gaurdian. Anytime someone she didn't know would come to see him, she would sit in front of his little
bassinet, and whimper until we were able to assure her that they weren't a threat to him.

She was the best dog ever.

My wife and kids left early this morning to go do some errands, shopping, ect.

They don't know. I have to tell them when they get home that Auggie is gone.

I don't want to.

I don't know how to tell them. They will be crushed.

Fuck, drove my family's car off the road and had to get it towed out of the snow by fire-truck. Just a stupid mistake on icy road doing 80km/h (50mph), over-correcting the car when it was going too much to the right. As if I'm not feeling shit enough, my mom asks me stupid questions like "were you thinking that you are an F1 driver, were you speeding?" "uh, no... Just a steering error"

The car seems ok tho... it only hit soft snow so yeah... Just really pissed at myself. Had to write about it somewhere.

And oh yeah, I was listening to Addicted. Going sideways doing 80 while Devin's screaming "You're addicteeeeeeed!" sounds cooler than it actually is, hah.
