I use Sonar to actually write my drums, and Steven Slate drums for my samples. I tried SD 2.0 and lost patience way fast. If I ever wanted to finish my album, I couldn't spend six months dialing in good drum tones. I do use comp/eq and some effects on my Slate drums, but for the most part they sound pretty good out of the box. For the type of music The Omega Experiment does, most of the time everything is going at once so there isn't much need for hit dynamics...but if I need to have things at different velocities I usually do it AS I write. Hope that helps lol.
